He also who had received the one talent came and said, "Lord, I knew
you that you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and
gathering where you did not scatter. I was afraid, and went away and
hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have what is yours."
But his lord answered him, "You wicked and slothful servant. You knew
that I reap where I didn't sow, and gather where I didn't scatter. You
ought therefore to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my
coming I should have received back my own with interest. Take away
therefore the talent from him, and give it to him who has the ten
talents. For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have
abundance, but from him who doesn't have, even that which he has will
be taken away. Throw out the unprofitable servant into the outer
darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
The demons from hell stand arrogantly at its gates, and declare for
all to hear "Do you need more proof that God is evil than my very
existence? My heart is made of stone. I despise mercy, and laugh at
the absurdity of sacrifice! The innocent are fools I consume as
trifles for my pleasure. What more proof do you need that love is a
vice, and mercy is the quest of the insane, than the evidence of my
own disgust and ridicule? Enter here, and join with us, the wise and
prudent - throw your soul into the pursuit of riches, for all is
pointless, and tomorrow you will suffer with us in any case."
The light thrown on Republicans from this parable is as the dawn on
the skin of the fabled Vampires, burning them alive (so to speak) with
the purity of the rays of the Sun.
This parable strikes at the very heart of greed, and the folly of
materialism. It describes the heart of one who hates the very concept
of mercy, believing that sacrifice - the investment in forgiveness of
one's fellow - is folly. For the "talents" that each servant is given,
the "money" they have to invest is the forgiveness of offenses and the
innate belief that giving without expectation of return is a virtue
which permeates nature as a principle that returns a profit in a way
only those who truly love God can appreciate. The evil heart believes
that love is nothing more than a fools errand, by which means the
greedy profit even more - indeed, the Master in this parable - God
Himself - is given the role by the evil servant, of one who, once
giving mercy to the prospective believer, expects the believer to
likewise give mercy to his fellows, only to take any profit from his
investment for Himself, leaving the believer to mourn the loss of the
gift as well as any profit, being worse off for investing his energies
to enrich his Master (God) - leaving the target of his mercy (his
fellow) even better off than he... claiming it is "wisdom" to refuse
participation in such an obvious scam.
It is the very definition of the heart of evil, to see mercy as
foolishness in comparison with the pleasures of materialism - the gain
of worldly riches being more passionately sought than the lives and
comfort of others... and ironically, the meaning of this parable is
that the casualty is not the one who invests in his fellow, trusting
in God for his reward, but rather the eternal life of the evil
servant.
Republicans despise the poor, the weak, the elderly, the
disenfranchised... all under the cover of Darwin's selection of the
fittest masquerading as "Christianity"
