Does Sarah Palin have a George Soros mole in her inner circle? The answer may very well be "yes" according to federal disclosure forms unearthed just a short time ago. A Republican lobbyist by the name of Randy Scheunemann operates a consulting firm in the Washington, D.C., area called Orion Strategies. Scheunemann has been with Palin ever since she was picked by John McCain to be his running mate for the 2008 presidential election campaign. Currently, Scheunemann is Palin's foreign policy advisor and one of her top aides. Since 2008, Scheunemann's influence in the Palin camp has only grown larger; he accompanied her, for instance, to Hong Kong in late 2009 for her speech there. However, since 2003, Scheunemann and his firm have also been retained by one of George Soros' organizations for the purpose of lobbying work. This begs the question, Is Palin getting good advice from Scheunemann, or is he an advocate for Soros-style ideas?

Scheunemann has been called a neoconservative, largely because of his support for the 2003 liberation of Iraq. However, he has also been a strong supporter of Georgia. The type of lobbying work that he has been retained for by one of Soros' organizations is primarily involving the promotion of democracy in Burma, along with sanctions. The Soros organization that has thrown a lot of money to this Palin top adviser is the Open Society Policy Center, which was founded by Soros after 9/11 to address changing US government policies. It is an organization that seems to dislike the way that terrorist detainees are treated at Gitmo (even though Gitmo is already a Club Med for Islamofascists); it also advocates that sentencing for criminals changes from punishment to a more rehabilitative model, the true epitome of liberal thinking.

The possible dilemma for Palin with having a Soros-backed foreign policy adviser in her inner circle is, clearly, the quality of his advice and the slant of his views. After all, Soros was just exposed all week this past week on the Glenn Beck program for being a shadowy supporter of many organizations that are actively and aggressively working to undo much of what has made America great. This includes things like funding anti-capitalist indoctrination in schools, illegal aliens for voter canvassing drives, and airwave propaganda that seeks to ruin conservative broadcasters. With these kinds of dislikeable, to say the least, ideologies being espoused by Soros' organizations, the quality of advice to Palin that Scheunemann provides ought to be held in question, too.

To further expand on this point about the effectiveness and credibility of Scheunemann, it has to be pointed out that he was sent to help out Delaware's Christine O'Donnell for debate preparations. We all know that O'Donnell ended up losing­in big part due to the betrayal of the Republican establishment, to be sure­but in light of Scheunemann being on Soros' payroll, we have to wonder whether he was doing the best job he could to help prepare her. Significantly, Palin was the one who recommended Scheunemann to assist O'Donnell.

It's also interesting to point out­as aware readers likely already know­that Beck is generally favorable towards Palin; just watch his interview with her from earlier this year on his TV show. Palin has also come out in support of Beck against calls by advertisers to boycott him. Both Beck and Palin are big Tea Party supporters and seen as two of the earliest catalysts to get the movement going, too. Maybe that's why Beck failed to mention the Soros connection to Palin's insider all this week on his show­though you would have expected him to, nonetheless.

If Palin wants to run for president in 2012 or in any year, she ought to get rid of the Soros-paid foreign policy adviser in Scheunemann. After all, if he is harmonious enough with Soros' viewpoints (at least on foreign policy) to do lobbying work on Soros' behalf, then he likely also shares some of said viewpoints.
