Colorado Supreme Court Rules Use of Stolen Social Security Number by Illegal Aliens Not Illegal

The Colorado Supreme Court ruled today that no crime was committed by Felix Montes-Rodriguez when he used a stolen social security number to apply for an auto loan.  Court records also reveal that Montes-Rodriguez admitted to using the stolen social in order to obtain employment in the U.S.

"We cannot conclude that Montes-Rodriguez pretended to be another person in his loan application simply because he supplied a false Social Security number," Justice Michael Bender wrote in his majority opinion.
