Compare the education that Sara Palin and the Tea Partiers (never Tea Baggers) and Joe the Plumber(sic - not Plummer) have with the education that Harry Truman had - and also his life experiences in running a business (they all have done that) and paid wages and have executive experience to offer. The same with Ronald Reagan - management experience, working with different groups in the private sector, executive experience in government. All of these have life experiences that show they know how to meet a budget and pay their taxes and meet a payroll and make a success of what they are doing. The current administration and the congressional officials involved have none of these abilities and it shows. Yes, Sara Palin and the Tea Partiers have more than enough education and intelligence that is needed to run this country. More than that they have the common sense that is needed - and that is a commodity that is totally lacking in our present administration and congress. What happened to America is that the Ivy Leaguers have spent years treating it as a private playground without regard to analyzing the results of what they have done. The results speak for themselves. African American families with 70% babies born out of wedlock, close to half the people not paying taxes, unemployment about 10% and rising, healthcare costs out of control, government entitlements out of control, whole groups of people who have found that they can live forever on government handouts without producing a single thing, all kinds of programs that do not work but keep getting more and more funding all the time. One could go on and on with the list. An education system that is in tatters and that is costing more and more every year and producing less and less education. Unions that are almost exclusively centered in government employees that hold the taxpayers for ransom. "Diversity Hell" where a group of college professors claim that their own students were guilty of rape and assault even after it has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that it never happened - and these professors do not even get penalized nor can they be sued for the damage they have done to their own students - and they try to rationalize it as geing something that "white men" do so the students should be penalized. The "Melting Pot" that did us so well for over 2 centuries is now being destroyed in the name of "multiculturalism" that will play one group against another. That is what your policies and your Bambi and Reid and Pelosi and Fwank and Obey and Dodd and Waters and Conyers and Hastings have done to this country. All hail the Ivy Leaguers and their fantastic education. At the rate they are going we will be lucky to make it to 250 years. And our children and their children will be paying for this mess that the Democratic congresses have wrought for generations to come and get nothing for it. So the answer is that yes, Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber and the Tea Partiers have all the education and intelligence needed to run this country. More important they also have the common sense to know enough to stop digging when they have put it into a hole. The current administration does not have a clue when it comes to that. It might involve not playing golf or having Date Nights in NYC where you take AF-1 and all the Secret Service men and all the press involved and go to the Waldorf Astoria for the weekend. Meanwhile the generals involved in trying to fight the war you are supporting cool their heels waiting for a chance to spend 20 minutes or 30 minutes of your time setting policy - and waiting and waiting and waiting. Or you go to Copenhagen to push for Chicago to be an Olympic city and the whole administration is put on hold while you swan around over there. Your Speaker of the House is meantime complaining that she only got a Gulfstream jet to fly friends to California with expensive liquors on board and she should have a 747. After all she is entitled. Another of your heroines is complaining when a general calls her ma'am - how dare he! doesn't he know she is a SENATOR!! I will take Sarah and Joe and the Tea Party over this crew any day and twice on Sundays. Have they forgotten Bush and Cheney who corrupted the system to start their own private war for perhaps for their own personal gain. What has happened to America? Would these same people stand up in front of a TV camera and Call President Obama the names that they do hiding behind their email addresses. I guess that these must be the same people who feel that Sara Palin, Joe the Plummer and the Tea Baggers have all the education and intelligence that is needed to run this country. On Thu, Jun 24, 2010 at 3:20 AM, <politicalforum+noreply@googlegroups.com> wrote:Today's Topic SummaryGroup:http://groups.google.com/group/politicalforum/topicsHow did anyone ever decide to vote for Obama - didn't they pay any attention at all??? Most of its incendiary quotes come not from the general, but his aides --- one of whom resigned Tuesday. McChrystal himself apologized for the article; he was reported to be returning to Washington for a White House meeting on Afghanistan Wednesday.McChrystal's enemies were quick to portray him as out of line and likely to be scolded, if not fired, by Obama. My colleague Jonathan Capehart said McChrystal should be ready to resign. But the tensions McChrystal disclosed were not news to anyone who has been following the Afghanistan mission in recent months; I first wrote about them more than a month ago.Nor is McChrystal the only participant in the feuding who has gone public with his argument. A scathing memo by Eikenberry describing Karzai as an unreliable partner was leaked to the press last fall. At a White House press briefing during Karzai's visit to Washington last month, the ambassador pointedly refused to endorse the Afghan leader he must work with. It's almost as if President Obama has been voting "Present" on his very own war strategy.Sorry, Barry, but no matter how unforgivingly indiscreet and... read more »
