We are looking for a Director/Associate Director Software Product
Development for a Financial information/research Multinational
Company.

Essential Requirements:
-- About 8 years (or more) experience for the Associate Director
position; more for the Director position
-- Of this experience, about 3 to 4 years should be Technical
experience (of actually writing software code)
-- Experience in .Net, SQL, XML (Please note: Not Java, and Not PHP)
-- Exposure of Agile (Scrum) methodology preferred
-- Project Management/Product Management type experience required
-- Note: This is a leadership position; it requires hiring staff from
scratch), allocating work, and managing teams.
-- Initially, this position (which will be based in Islamabad) will
work with existing company teams in the US and India
The company is looking for an Director/Associate Director to provide
leadership
for branch office in Pakistan, working closely with management in the
US to ensure common vision and guidance. The position entails indirect
management of groups to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and
timeliness of data collected. The position will be pivotal
in providing performance evaluations for company's Pakistan Managers
by monitoring department and individual performance.


POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for software development for digital content distribution
products and services including software development for new products
or service lines as well as existing product enhancements.
Understands company and department objectives, translating goals into
clear workgroup and individual performance plans and monitors the
plans to ensure steady progress toward the targeted goals.
Recognizes business risks and trends that will affect the goals, and
make necessary adjustments to plans and resources to accommodate
changing demands.
Enforces company standards and procedures for product development and
product management.
Prioritizes development operations to maximize revenues.
Manages staffing and compensation-related matters for product managers
and developers.
Assists in short and long-range planning for the appropriate
department or business unit.


Education:
At least BSCS – Foreign Qualified Preferred, Preferably PMP and Agile
(Scrum) Practitioner


Experience:
About eight years (or more) project management, product development or
equivalent experience focused on database applications, Experience
managing software products utilizing different technical platforms.
Prior corporate finance or investment banking experience required.
Experience creating and executing testing scripts.
Extensive technical training in new and emerging development technologies.
Extensive experience working in all phases of development cycle and
within a team environment.
Configuration management experience preferred.

Specific Skills:
Strong of coding languages and conventions.
Technologies include Visual Basic, Active Server Pages, SQL,
ASP.NET<http://asp.net/>
,
C#, XSLT, XML and HTML. is required.
Experience utilizing project planning tools.


Special knowledge, licenses, etc:
Demonstrated expert project, systems and/or product knowledge in one
or more areas.
Good Project Management skills.
PMI (Product Management Institute) coursework or certification helpful.
Completion of technical courses such as SQL, front and back end languages.
Basic understanding of financial concepts required.
High level understanding of databases and programming desirable.
Understanding of product lifecycles, creating specifications,
designing mockups preferred.

Abilities:
Excellent logic and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to think creatively. Ability to effectively communicate
technical concepts to other technical staff members.
Strong organizational skills required to prioritize work and meet
established deadlines.
Ability to write procedures and documentation.
Must be self-directed and rely on experience and judgment to plan and
accomplish goals.
Ability to interface well with IT staff and other non-technical
members of the organization.
Must be committed to exceptional customer service and support.
Must possess strong problem analysis and decision-making ability.
Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies.
