DCDelegate Candidate Bruce Majors Calls on Mayor Vincent Gray to Resign Immediately

(Washington, DC) – Today, Bruce Majors, a successful realtor and Libertarian Party candidate for DC Delegate, called on Mayor Vincent Gray (D) to resign.  "We do not need to give Congress any additional reason to intervene in the internal affairs of the District," said Majors.  "DC has been fighting for years to overcome the scandal of past administrations.  If Vincent Gray truly cares about the District of Columbia and about the future of home rule, then he will resign immediately."

In June, Majors, a long time DC resident and local realtor announced the formation of an exploratory committee to consider a run against DC Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton.  Majors supporters have been fanning out across the District over the last few weeks collecting the signatures necessary to put him on the ballot in November.

"If I am honored enough to be elected by the people of the District to represent them in Congress, I need a Mayor who can work to expand the District's ability to make decisions for itself.  The stench of scandal and corruption surrounding Vincent Gray renders him a serious liability to the people of DC.  It is time for Vincent Gray to resign.  I hope my opponent, Eleanor Holmes Norton, will join me in putting the best interests of her constituents above partisan politics and personal relationships, and work on eliminating the pervasive corruption in her party and the DC political class," concluded Majors.
