Students kicked out of Wal-Mart for singing “God Bless America”

If they want to sing outside in the parking lot fine but you do not go inside and disrupt the store's customers and business.

Students kicked out of Wal-Mart for singing "God Bless America"

by Dr. Eowyn

75 elementary school students singing "God Bless America" were kicked off the premises of a Florida Wal-Mart -- and had the police called on them -- even though the school principal had obtained the store's prior permission. The little kids meant the song as a way to honor those who died on 9-11.

CBS Miami reports from Pembroke Pines, Florida, Sept. 13, 2012:

Coconut Palm Elementary Principal Terri Thelmas, 75 students and their parents were kicked off Wal-Mart property Wednesday evening.

Were they protesting the high price of school supplies? Nope. The Miramar principal and her students were simply trying to sing "God Bless America" to honor the fallen heroes of 9-11.

According to Thelmas, the store manager gave her approval the week before to sing the one-minute song inside the Wal-Mart, located at Pines & Flamingo in Pembroke Pines.

Around 7 p.m. Wednesday, the group showed up and the manager-on-duty told them they were a "liability" and that the kids would not be allowed to sing.

So, the kids went outside the store to sing. That's when things got ugly: the manager called Pembroke Pines police to have them removed from the property.

Thelmas doesn't understand why, on a day reserved for patriotism and reflection, Walmart was more concerned with lawsuits than exemplifying its commitment to the local community.

Go here to see CBS Miami's video on this disgraceful incident. The video does say that a Wal-Mart spokesperson later issued an apology to the students and attributed the incident to "miscommunication." BS!

Want to send a message of support to school principal Terri Thelmas and the 75 students? Go here!

Here's contact info for that Wal-Mart store:

18350 Pines Blvd, Pembroke Pines, FL 33029

Big Labor's Federal Funding Skyrockets Under Obama

by Scotty Starnes

Well, Obama did say their agenda was his agenda and he has done all he can to redistribute our money to them.

From Judicial Watch:

The Obama Administration has rewarded its big labor allies with lucrative federal grants, including millions of dollars to help them strengthen unions in Iraq, according to documents obtained by Judicial Watch.

The information comes straight from government records gathered in the course of a lengthy JW investigation into the administration's tight relationship with the nation's powerful labor movement. Since Obama moved to the White House federal funding for big labor has skyrocketed to the tune of tens of millions of dollars.

A chunk of the money is being funneled to unions so they can increase labor organization around the globe, the records show. In most cases the American taxpayer dollars are going to leftist groups in the developing world. For instance, theAmerican Center for International Labor Solidarity has received nearly $3 million to strengthen labor unions in Iraq. The group is the international arm of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), the nation's largest federation of unions representing 12 million workers.

The AFL-CIO offshoot also got a chunk of change from Uncle Sam for various other causes. For example, it raked in an additional $2.5 million for "labor outreach" last year and $1.2 million from the State Department to combat human trafficking in Asia. Earlier this year the group got an additional $721,310 for more labor outreach. This brings the total amount of federal grants awarded to the Solidary Center to $71,652,403, the records show. JW compiled a spreadsheet of all the transactions.

The Solidarity Center is run by politically-connected figures in the labor movement. Former AFL-CIO President John Sweeny is chairman of the board, former AFL-CIO executive councilman William Lucy is vice chairman and current AFL-CIO President Dick Trumka is the secretary and treasurer. The center was founded in 1997, but didn't receive federal assistance till a decade later.

Under Obama the government cash has flowed generously with most of the money coming from the State Department and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), created by President John Kennedy in 1961 to provide humanitarian assistance around the world. In fiscal year 2011 (the latest available stats) the Solidarity Center got north of $14 million, which is roughly half of its annual budget in 2009 and 2010. All the grants were rewarded to help increase labor organizations around the world.

Additionally, JW found that the National Labor College, which bills itself as "the nation's only accredited higher education institution devoted exclusively to educating union members, leaders and staff," has received nearly $3 million in federal grants since 2009. This includes a $1.1 million emergency preparedness grant from the Department of Transportation earlier this year. Of interesting note is that AFL-CIO President Dick Trumka, who serves as secretary and treasurer of the Solidarity Center, is the chairman of the college's board of directors.

Judicial Watch left out a critical story. Remember Team Obama suing Boeing over Boeing wanting to build a plant in South Carolina and using non-union workers??? Socialist have a fondness for corrupt union goons, even Pelosi wanted to force Boeing to shut down the SC facility.

Re: Pat Caddell: Romney Campaign Worst in My Lifetime

Kind of like the McCain "I want Obama to be President" campaign.

As much as I hate to say it,  I agree with Caddell......The Romney Campaign needs to attack.  I do think Romney was savvy in the way he has addressed this most recent Arab uprising, and the way that the Obama Administration has failed to deal with it, in it's entirety.  Obviously the Obama Administration has been bothered by Romney's remarks, as his media footsoldiers have been like rabid dogs on Romney ever since.

GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney is running a poor campaign against a weak incumbent and is losing, longtime Democratic political operative and pollster Pat Caddell said in an appearance on the Fox News web show "Campaign Insiders."

Caddell, who was a pollster for President Jimmy Carter and is now a Fox News contributor, laid into the Romney campaign during the appearance.

http://video.foxnews.com/v/1832694182001/

"I swear to God, everything we have been saying for months, and I know a lot of the audience doesn't want to hear this, this is the worst campaign in my lifetime," he said, adding, "Obama's fighting for his life, his party is fighting for their life, and they're winning. This is, I've said all along, Romney's election to lose and by God he's losing," reports Real Clear Politics.

Caddell noted that Obama is now at a 50 percent approval rating despite "hundreds of millions of dollars raised and spent by Republican and conservative consultants and organizations." He said they have failed because they have no message.

"I watched Romney yesterday, I swear to God, there is no urgency to this man," he said. "He is running, as I said this morning, bored. … He has no message other than 'I'd like to win and by the way I have a secret formula.' He may still win with this, but not if Obama's at 50 percent approval."
Caddell said he could not say "enough bad things" about Romney's strategists.

"They are incompetent, they believe that you can sit and an election will automatically come to you," he added. "And they don't respond. They never sold Romney with the message that we talked about for months. I'm sorry for the audience out there. It's not that the American people are stupid, your candidate is stupid."
