The Liberal Claus...A New Christmas Story

The Liberal Claus...A New Christmas Story

A Christmas story that features liberals elves and a socialist Santa? I'm sure this will be an instant Christmas classic.

Fox News reports:

One Tea Party candidate who lost his bid for Congress now has another cause to promote: a childrens' Christmas book he wrote earlier this year. But this is no ordinary Christmas story - "The Liberal Clause" features a unionized Santa's workshop, liberal elves led by "Elf Peloosi," and a socialist Santa-like figure who may or may not have really been born in the North Pole.

The book's author, David W. Hedrick, first burst onto the state political scene when he angrily confronted Washington State Democratic congressman Brian Baird at a town hall meeting on healthcare earlier this year. Hedrick then launched a primary campaign for the GOP nomination to replace the retiring Baird, but lost his bid in August.

"The Liberal Clause" tells the story of a snowy small town that gets taken over by the "Liberal Claus," - who also goes by the name of Barry - and his sidekick, "Elf Peloosi." Liberal Claus forces the elves to unionize, bails out the sled industry with town money, and stipulates that all children be given the same amount of toys, no matter if they've been naughty or nice.

He cites a "liberal clause" in the town's "Christmatution" that allows him to get away with all of this - along with trying to control "elf-made global warming" and forcing townsfolk to attend a church presided over by a "Reverend Blight."

In the end, one little girl defends the Christmastution and saves the town from Liberal Claus' takeover - by unplugging his teleprompter.

The Obama Administration Orders Federal Workers Not to Read WiliLeaks Cables

The Obama Administration Orders Federal Workers Not to Read WiliLeaks Cables

The MOST TRANSPARENT ADMINISTRATION....EVER?

This administration takes it's time on the most important issues. Afghanistan, extending the Bush tax cuts, the economy. No big deal was made when WikiLeaks released their first batch of documents that exposed our soldiers and put their lives in danger but now that these leaks are exposing the Obama administration they move quickly to suppress the truth.

Ordering Federal workers to not read the WikiLeak document dump. Wow. Sounds more like a dictatorship than a free republic.

From the NY Times:

WASHINGTON — In a classic case of shutting the barn door after the horse has left, the Obama administration and the Department of Defense have ordered the hundreds of thousands of federal employees and contractors not to read the secret cables and other classified documents published by Wikileaks and news organizations around the world unless the workers have the required security clearance or authorization.

"Classified information, whether or not already posted on public websites or disclosed to the media, remains classified, and must be treated as such by federal employees and contractors, until it is declassified by an appropriate U.S. Government authority," said the notice sent on Friday afternoon by the Office of Management and Budget, which is part of the White House, to agency and department heads, urging them to distribute it to their staff

The directive applies to both government computers and private devices that employees or contractors might carry in their briefcases and pockets or have in their homes. It does not advise agencies to block WikiLeaks or other websites on government computer systems, a White House official said Saturday. And it does not prohibit federal employees from reading news stories about the topic. But if they have "accidentially" already downloaded any of these documents, they are being told to notify their "information security offices."

The Department of Defense, in its own directive to military personnel and icontractors, says that simply reading these documents, without proper authorization, will violate long-standing rules even though they are accessible to the public at large on Internet sites.

"Viewing or downloading still classified documents from unclassified government computers creates a security violation," a spokeswoman said in a statement on Saturday.

It's OK for the rest of the world to read the documents but the government doesn't want federal employees to read the WikiLeak document dump. Maybe this administration should have moved on Julian Assange after the first dump. Now that it involves secrets that damage the Obama administration, its time to restrict the truth. See no evill. Speak no evil. Hear no evil.

The effort, while understandable, seems entirely futile, said Marc Rotenberg, executive director of the Electronic Privacy Information Center, a Washington nonprofit group that has combated government efforts to keep certain government documents secret.

"It just may be a little too late for the government to push these documents down the memory hole," Mr. Rotenberg said, adding that his center did not support the initial public release of the material. "This is Orwell thought police in the age of the Internet, as these are already so widely accessible on servers around the world."The Library of Congress has joined in the push, blocked visitors to its reading rooms, or anyone else using its computer system, from accessing the WikiLeaks site, noting that "unauthorized disclosures of classified documents do not alter the documents' classified status or automatically result in declassification of the documents."

Obama's State Department Tells Columbia University Students DO NOT Discuss WikiLeaks on Facebook or Twitter....or you may never get a job with the Government

Obama's State Department Tells Columbia University Students DO NOT Discuss WikiLeaks on Facebook or Twitter....or you may never get a job with the Government

You better do what the dictator says or punishment is sure to follow. The Dear Reader has spoken and if you read anything associated with the WikiLeaks document dump, the Obama administration will not hire you.

Sounds like the Obama administration wants to hide the truth from their blind followers.

From Obama's recommending propaganda site, The Huffington Post:

Talking about WikiLeaks on Facebook or Twitter could endanger your job prospects, a State Department official warned students at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs this week.

An email from SIPA's Office of Career Services went out Tuesday afternoon with a caution from the official, an alumnus of the school. Students who will be applying for jobs in the federal government could jeopardize their prospects by posting links to WikiLeaks online, or even by discussing the leaked documents on social networking sites, the official was quoted as saying.

"[The alumnus] recommends that you DO NOT post links to these documents nor make comments on social media sites such as Facebook or through Twitter," the Office of Career Services advised students. "Engaging in these activities would call into question your ability to deal with confidential information, which is part of most positions with the federal government."

While the massive disclosure of once-classified documents detailing some of the nation's most tightly-guarded secrets has inflamed allies and enemies alike, the move by the State Department represents a new front in the administration's campaign against unauthorized leaks.

Michelle Obama's Child Nutrition Bill Grants to Goverment Power Over School Bake Sales

Michelle Obama's Child Nutrition Bill Grants to Goverment Power Over School Bake Sales

You will learn to love the nanny state. I'm the food Nazi!

The federal power grab continues. They only do it because they care, not because they're power-hungry. The brownie police are coming to a school near you.

How about concentrating more on education and less about being food Nazis to the children.

CNSNews.com reports:

Don't touch my brownies! A child nutrition bill on its way to President Barack Obama - and championed by the first lady - gives the government power to limit school bake sales and other fundraisers that health advocates say sometimes replace wholesome meals in the lunchroom.

Republicans, notably Sarah Palin, and public school organizations decry the bill as an unnecessary intrusion on a common practice often used to raise money.

"This could be a real train wreck for school districts," Lucy Gettman of the National School Boards Association said Friday, a day after the House cleared the bill. "The federal government should not be in the business of regulating this kind of activity at the local level."

The legislation, part of first lady Michelle Obama's campaign to stem childhood obesity, provides more meals at school for needy kids, including dinner, and directs the Agriculture Department to write guidelines to make those meals healthier. The legislation would apply to all foods sold in schools during regular class hours, including in the cafeteria line, vending machines and at fundraisers.

Yes, its being paid by taking money away from those receiving food stamps benefits.

It wouldn't apply to after-hours events or concession stands at sports events.

Public health groups pushed for the language on fundraisers, which encourages the secretary of Agriculture to allow them only if they are infrequent. The language is broad enough that a president's administration could even ban bake sales, but Secretary Tom Vilsack signaled in a letter to House Education and Labor Committee Chairman George Miller, D-Calif., this week that he does not intend to do that. The USDA has a year to write rules that decide how frequent is infrequent.

Margo Wootan of the Center for Science in the Public Interest says the bill is aimed at curbing daily or weekly bake sales or pizza fundraisers that become a regular part of kids' lunchtime routines. She says selling junk food can easily be substituted with nonfood fundraisers.

"These fundraisers are happening all the time," Wootan said. "It's a pizza sale one day, doughnuts the next... It's endless. This is really about supporting parental choice. Most parents don't want their kids to use their lunch money to buy junk food. They expect they'll use their lunch money to buy a balanced school meal."

Not all see it that way.

Palin mocked the efforts last month by bringing a plate of cookies to a school speech in Pennsylvania. Rep. John Kline of Minnesota, the senior Republican on the House Education and Labor Committee, said the federal government "has really gone too far" when it is deciding when to hold bake sales.

Some parents say they are perplexed by what the new rules might allow.

In Seminole, Fla., the Seminole High Warhawks Marching Band's booster club held a bake sale to help send the band's 173 members to this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in New York. One of the bake sale's specialties: New York-style cheesecake, an homage to the destination they'd pursued for 10 years.

"Limiting bake sales is so narrow-minded," said Laura Shortway, whose 17-year-old daughter, Mallory, is a drummer in the band. "Having bake sales keeps these fundraisers community based, which is very appealing to the person making the purchase."
