No Appeal
The Prime Minister has decided not to file the appeal against his conviction by the SC after the ruling of the Speaker to not to send his case to the Election Commission. Apparently, the PM has been advised by his legal experts not to take the risk in filing the appeal lest the SC spells out clearly his dismissal and ineligibility to be an MNA in unequivocal and unambiguous terms in deciding the appeal. Whatever the reason, does it not mean that the PM has accepted the sentence awarded to him by the court that of “till the rising of the court” and thus stands convicted now.
Does it not say somewhere in the constitution that a con cannot be a member of any legislative assembly? Has he not, therefore, by virtue of it become unqualified to hold the office of the PM any more?

I appreciate miss aini who write a right thing and point out so many things..with this nuclear energy not only we can defend our country but also produce a large number of electricity..but it need honest and sincere politicians..unfortunately our robber politicians don't want to solve energy crises..may be it possible they have bargain with America and took a large amount of dollars…zardari and gailani can bargain their women in exchange of dollars….they are not sincere with country…

ہما رے وہ پا کستانی سا ئنس دان جو ایٹم بم کے خالق ہیں انھوں نے کبھی یہ سو چا بھی نہ گا کہ جو ایٹم بم وہ اپنے وطن کی حفا ظت کے لیے بنا رہے ہیں وہ حفا ظتی حصاران کے ملک کے لیے عذاب بن جا ئے گا دشمن کسی طرح اسے ہضم نہیں کر پا ئیں گے کہ ایک اسلا می ملک کیوں ایٹمی طا قت بنے لیکن اس میں سب سے زیا دہ قصور بھی تو ہما رے اپنے پا لیسی سازوں کا ہے جنھوں نے کبھی اس سے مثبت انداز سے فا ئدہ اٹھا نے کی کو شش ہی نہیں کی آج کے دور میں کسی ملک کی ترقی یا فتہ ہو نے کی سب سے پہلی شرط صنعت و حرفت میں اضا فہ ہے جب کہ ہم لو ڈ شیڈنگ کے عذاب میں پھنسے ہو ئے ہیں ایٹم بم بنا نے کے بعد ہو نا تو چا ہیے تھا کہ ہم ایٹمی پا ور پلا نٹ پر توجہ دیتے مگر ہم آنکھیں بند کر کے بیٹھ گئے نتیجہ یہ کہ اس وقت ملک شدید لوڈ شیڈنگ کے بحران کا شکار ہے بے روز گا ری نے ہر چیز الٹ پلٹ کر رکھ دی ہے اتنا نقصان تو کسی ملک کو سونا می سے نہیں ہو گا جتنا ہمیں اس لو ڈ شیڈ نگ کر ائسس سے ہو رہا ہے اس منفی پہلو کے با وجود اگر ہم آج تکبیر ڈے منا رہے ہیں ایٹمی طا قت کے حا مل ملک کے شہری ہیںتو اس پر ہمیں فخر بھی ضرور ہے کہ اسے بنا نے وا لوں نے بہت نیک نیتی سے ہما ری حفاظت اور سلا متی کے لیے ہی بنا یا ہے جو ان کے بس میں تھا انھوں نے وہ کیاجو اسے بگا ڑنے والوں کے ہا تھ ہے وہ اپنی ایڑی چوٹی کا دم لگا رہے ہیں ۔
انسان نے اس دنیا میں آنے کے بعد ہی اپنی حفاظت کے لیے ھتیارر ایجا د کرلیے تھے یہ ھتیار کبھی کوئی در خت کی موٹی شاخ تو کبھی کوئی نو کیلے پتھر کی صورت میںاس کو تحفظ فراہم کر تی پھروقت کے ساتھ ساتھ اس نے بھا لے ،نیزے ،تیرکمان ، تلوار اور منجیقو ں کا استعما ل شروع کیا انیسویں صدی میں جب سانئس اور ٹیکنا لو جی نے تر قی کی تو ھتیا روں میں بھی جدت آتی گئی دور جدید کے ھتیا روں میں کلاشنکوف ، ریوالور،مشین گن اور راکٹ لا نچر کی کئی چھو ٹی بڑی قسمیں متعا رف ہو ئیں 1905ء میں عظیم سا ئنس دا ں البر ٹ آئن سٹائن نیو کلیئر پر ایک رسرچ کی جس میںوہ نا کام رہے مگر اس کے تیس سال بع 1934ء میں اسی ریسرچ کو بنیا د بنا کر اینر یکو فیئر مین یہ ثابت کر نے میں کا میا ب ہو گئے کہ ایٹم کا نیو کلیئر آہستہ کرنے والے نیو ٹران کو اپنی جا نب متو جہ کر سکتا ہے جو ایک جدید اور مہلک ہتیار بنا نے میں معاون ثابت ہو تا ہے یو ں ایٹمی ھتیا روں کا دور شروع ہو ا امریکہ نے پہلے ایٹم بم کی تخلیق اور اسکا کا میاب ایٹمی تجربہ 16جو لا ئی 1945ء میںکیا امر یکہ کو اپنی طا قت ثابت کرنے کا شوق روز اول سے ہے اس لیے اس نے اپنے ایٹمی تجربے کے محض 20دن کے بعد ہی دوسری جنگ عظیم میں اپنے حریف جا پان کے دو شہر وں پر بم بر سائے جس سے جا پان کو شکست کے ساتھ سخت جا نی ومالی نقصان اٹھا نا پڑا ا مر یکہ کی اس فتح کے بعد تو گو یا یو رپی ممالک اپنی بقا ء کے لیے اسے لا زم وملزوم سمجھنے لگے فرانس ، روس ، فرانس، اسرا ئیل ، چین اور بر طا نیہ ایٹمی دھماکوں کے بعد ایٹمی طاقت والے نا قابل تسخیر ممالک میں شامل ہو گئے ۔
تقسیم بر صغیر کے بعد بھا رت نے اپنا ایٹامک انرجی کمشن 1948ء میں قائم کر لیا تھا لیکن پا کستان نے اس با بت کو ئی پیش رفت نہیں کی تھی ۱۷۱۹ء کی جنگ کے بعد جب پاکستا ن کے دو ٹکڑے ہو ئے تو یہ احساس جڑ پکڑ تا گیا کہ پا کستان کو اپنی عسکری طاقت کو نا قابل تسخیر بنا نا ہو گا تا کہ دشمن آ ئندہ اس پر ضرب نہ لگا سکے قوم ابھی اسی ما یو سی کے سمندر میں غو طہ زن تھی کہ976ء میں بھا رت نے اپنا پہلا ایٹمی دھماکہ کا تجر بہ کر ڈالا جس کے جو اب میں جنا ب ذوالفقار علی بھٹو نے اپنا مشہور زما نہ جملہ اداکیاکہ '' ہم گھاس کھا لیں گے لیکن ایٹم بم ضرور بنا ئیں گے ۔'' قوم کے اس سپوت نے ایٹمی پلا نٹ کی بنیاد رکھی جس میں آنے والے دنوں میں محب وطن آرمی چیف اور حکو متی سر براہوں نے اس کا م کو آگے بڑھایا ان لیڈروں نے جن میں جنرل ضیا ء الحق ،صدر غلا م اسحاق خان ، میاں محمد نواز شریف ، محترمہ بے نظیر بھٹو ، مرزا جنرل مرزا اسلم بیگ ، جنرل وحید کا کڑ اور جہانگیر کر امت شامل رہے جہاں ان لیڈروں نے اس مشن کوپا یہ تکمل تک پہنچانے میں اپنے فرا ئض خوش اسلوبی سے ادا کیے وہا ں ہمیں اپنے ما یہ ناز سا ئنس دانوں پر بھی فخر ہے جنھوں نے سخت ما لی ودیگرمشکل حالا ت میں ایٹمی تجربے کو کا میاب بنا یا ڈاکٹر عبدا لقدیر خان، ڈاکٹر ثمر مند مبا رک ، ڈا کٹر اشفا ق ، ڈاکٹر بٹ، ڈاکٹر بشر الدین ، اور دیگر قا بل فخر سا ئنس دانوں کی دن رات کی پر خلو ص محنت اور قومی جذبے کی سر شاری نے وطن عزیز کو اس قابل بنا یا ۔
ڈاکٹر ثمر مند مبا رک یوم تکبیر کے حوالے سے فرما تے ہیں کہ ''بلو چستان میں چا غی کے مقام پر8 مئی998ء بروز جمعرات تین بجکر سولہ منٹ پر الٹی گنتی گننے کے بجا ئے اللہ اکبر کا نعرہ لگا کر ٹیسٹ کا بٹن دبا یا گیا اس لیے اس دن کو یوم تکبیر کا نام دیا گیا ''۔ یو م تکبیر کے با برکت نام کا نعرہ ہماری تا ریخ کی تمام غزوات میں دین اسلا م کی نصرت وکا مرانی کا سبب بھی رہا ہے ایٹمی دھما کے کے تجربہ کے بعد پا کستا ن دنیا میں ساتویں اور اسلا می دنیا میں وا حد ایٹمی طاقت بننے کااعزاز حا صل ہو گیا تما م دنیا کے مسلما نوں نے اس کا میا بی پر مبا رک با د کے پیغاما ت دیے قبلہ اول مسجد اقصیٰ کے خطیب نے فرما یا ''یہ قوت محض پا کستان کی قوت نہیں بلکہ سارے عالم اسلا م کی قوت ہے ' ' ۔ایٹمی قوت بننے کے بعد تما م مسلم ممالک میں پا کستان کی عزت وتوقیر میں اضافہ ہو ا اس کا میابی میں ہما رے اسلامی ممالک کی مالی اور اخلاقی مدد بھی شامل رہی 28مئی کو یو م تکبیر کے حوالے سے ہمیں یہ بات یا د رکھنی چا ہیے کہ زند قومیں ا پنے ہیروز اور قومی دن کو ہمیشہ یاد رکھتی ہیں اس کی حفا ظت اور احترام کر تی ہیں ۔
آج جب پوری قوم یوم تکبیر کی سالگرہ منا رہی ہے تو ہماری اٰیٹمی تنصیبات کی سلامتی اور حفا ظت پر چا روں طرف سے سوالیہ نشان اٹھا ئے جا رہے ہیں ہما رے بہی خواہ (امریکہ اور بھا رت ) اپنے تحفظا ت کا اظہا ر کر رہے ہیںہما رے سول اور فوجی ادارے با ر ہا اس با ت کی یقین دھا نی کروا چکے ہیں کہ ایٹمی پروگرا م انتہا ئی محفو ظ ہا تھوںمیں ہے ڈاکٹر ثمر مند مبا رک ایٹمی پلا نٹ کی سیکورٹی کے حوالے سے کہتے ہیں کہ '' ویپنز کی سیکورٹی کو محفو ظ کرنے پر کڑی تو جہ دی گئی ہے ا س میںکمپییوٹرز ،پرو ٹیکٹیڈاور بہت کچھ سیکورٹی کے حوالے سے لگا ہوتا ہے جو ایک خا ص طریقہ سے پرو گرام کیا گیاہو تا ہے ا س میں کو ڈ لگے ہو تے ہیں اور یہ کو ڈ ہر کسی کو دستیا ب نہیں ہو سکتے ''۔یہی وجہ ہے بھا رت ،امریکہ اور اسرائیل ہما ری ایٹمی تنصیبا ت کی حفا ظت کے لیے ہم سے زیا دہ فکر مند نظر آتے ہیں آج کے حالات میںامریکہ جو دہشت گردی کی جنگ میں ہما را اتحادی ہے جس نے ما ضی میںہما رے ایٹمی تجر بے کی پا داش میں ہما ری اقتصادی امداد پر پا بندی عا ئد کر دی تھی پوری دنیا میں ہمیں تنہا کرنے کی تدبیروں میں پیش پیش تھا لیکن وہ ہما را کچھ بگا ڑ نہیں سکا ماضی سے سبق سیکھتے ہو ئے ہمیں یہ با ت نہیں بھولنا چاہیے کہ یہ ایٹمی قوت کی طا قت ہی ہے جس نے ہمارے ملک کو اپنی حفا ظت میں لے رکھا ہے ورنہ ہما رابھی آج وہی حشر ہو تو جوافغا نستان اور عراق کا ہوا ۔ ایٹمی طا قت بننے کے با وجود ہما ری قوم کو اس با ت کا ملال ضرور ہے کہ اتنی بڑی کامیابی بعد ہو نا تو یہ چا ہیے تھا کہ ہم جدید ٹیکنا لو جی کے میدان میں مزید ترقی کرتے ملک سے بے روز گاری ،دہشت گردی ، لو ڈ شیڈنگ اور کر پشن کی دلدل سے نجا ت حا صل کرتے مگر افسوس کہ ہما رے سول ادارے اورحکمرا ںاشرافیہ اپنی تجوریاں بھرنے میںمصروف نظر آتے ہیں دہشت گردی کے شعلے ہما رے پورے ملک کو اپنی گرفت میں لپیٹے ہو ئے ہے لیکن گھا س کھا کر ایٹم بم بنا نے والے لیڈرکے جا نشینو ںکو اس بات کا قطعی احساس نہیں امریکی آقاوئں کے آگے سر نگوں ہے جب کہ قوم تما م تر مصائب ومشکلا ت کے با وجود وطن عزیز کی حفا ظت وسلا متی کے لیے ہر قربا نی دینے کو تیا ر ہے ۔۔

Romney Is a Disaster on Education

What a disaster conservatives are. They preach their old 1950s mantra "free enterprise, private property, and limited government" while embracing every socialist and interventionist program that comes down the pike. A recent example is Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's plan to fix America's educational woes.
Needless to say, you'd never find a conservative calling for the end of public schooling, one of the most socialist programs you'd ever find. It's not a coincidence that public schooling is a core program in Cuba and North Korea. Both countries fervently embrace socialism and so it's not surprising that they ardently embrace public schooling.
Long ago conservatives made their peace with public schooling, notwithstanding their purported opposition to socialism. Conservatives were afraid that they wouldn't be taken seriously by the media and the electorate if they called for "free enterprise, private property, and limited government" in the area of education. And so they went over to the statist side, even while continuing to preach their free-enterprise mantra.
So, you'd never expect someone like Mitt Romney to call for a total free market in education -- that is, a total separation of school and state.
But wouldn't you at least expect him to call for an end to all federal involvement in education? My gosh, even Ronald Reagan, whom conservatives portray as a paragon of "free enterprise, private property, and limited government," called for abolishing the federal Department of Education.
According to the New York Times, Romney told a private group of donors in Florida last month that he would reduce the size of the Education Department or merge it into another agency.
That's not exactly ending the Department of Education, is it? It's clear that Romney believes that the federal government should continue to play an important role in the education of people's children. As a conservative, he just wants the role to be more streamlined.
That's what now passes for conservatism when it comes to education. What a disaster.
But it actually gets worse. Lamenting the horrific results of public schooling, Romney wants to use a "public report card" on each school so that parents can judge the quality of the school. Of course, as the Times pointed out, "It is uncertain how that proposal differs from existing report cards under the No Child Left Behind law under President Bush."
In one of the most revealing aspects of how conservatives think, Romney wants public school students to be able to choose any public school in the state or any private school and to have federal funds follow them.
Conservatives call this type of thing "choice." In the conservative mind, this is what freedom is all about: the ability of parents to select from a wide variety of government institutions and government-approved private institutions in which to have their children "educated," with federal tax monies being provided to the schools of their choice. No doubt that Romney, along with other conservatives, would exclaim how proud they are of this "competitive" system.
Notice something important about this entire system: It has government playing an integral role in it at all levels local, state, and federal. Within that government system, conservatives do their best to come up with ideas for new "reforms," which they inevitably label "free enterprise, private property, and limited government."

And why not? In principle, the only difference between liberals and conservatives is the rhetoric. Conservatives employ free-enterprise mantras while embracing the same statist programs as liberals. Education is a good example, as Romney demonstrates.
Why can't statists just admit that the reason that public schooling is a disaster is simply because it's a socialistic program? Socialism doesn't work, not even when it's run by American politicians and bureaucrats. It's an inherently defective system. It cannot be made to work, not even with the most wondrous reforms that conservatives or liberals can come up with.
What will it take for people to finally give up on socialism? How much more damage and destruction must be done to children's minds before people finally reject educational socialism, once and for all?
Let's separate school and state, in the way our ancestors separated church and state. End all state involvement in education at all levels, including public schooling. Have a total free market in education, one in which families are responsible for the educational decisions of their children and where entrepreneurs in a free market are vying to provide the best education possible to people.
The free market works and it's the only system that's founded on moral principles. When it comes to education, people should reject statism and embrace the free market. It's the best thing they could ever do for their children and everyone else's children.
