Re: Another Conservative religious nut job predicts end-o-world this Saturday

I talked to God Friday night and requested that the world NOT end the
world on Saturday...and I got a positive response.

However the bad news is, everyone on planet earth now owes me $5. for
saving it.

Far less than the total liquidation of assets the pastor was asking
for from anyone who would listen.
What a bargain !!!

Remember, you wouldn't be here today if it weren't for me.
Thank you very much for your support.

Please send $5 for saving the world to:
P.O. 841
Hackettstown, NJ 07840

PS, If I can collect $5 from everyone on earth, I will still not be
the richest person on earth with $31 billion.
But I need this money to build a 300' tall giant space age nuclear
powered robot the whole world would look at in awe the way they used
to view the US not so long ago with our space program.

---

Just heard some of the idiots who believed in this pastor and sold
everything they had, are wanting answers and their money back.
In response the pastor said; "I'm flabbergasted it didn't happen.
That's all I have to say about it."

But this is very typical of conservative thought process making claims
with zero facts about.
Happens all the time with these nut case conservatives. It's a
demonstrable fact.

Well I think the Justice Department ought to throw him in jail for
fraud and not say anything more about it.

Re: Social Security vs Pensions

So how do you determine when the person is wealthy enough that they
don't get that which they paid for over 50 years or so - and how do you
keep it current. Remember when $100K was fantastically wealthy and set
you up for life and now it is just middle class. Where do you draw the
line and do you adjust it for geographic differences. After all where I
live $1000 is enough for a studio apartment in a half way decent
neighborhood and if you want to buy an apartment look to start at around
$150K. Where I grew up $150K would buy you a really nice home in a
great neighborhood and in other areas if you are looking for a livable
home you can start around $50K. You still have not justified the
redistribution aspects of what you are envisioning. Why would someone
pay into a ponzi scheme like this if there were no way to get any of it
back - and yet you are forcing everyone to pay into it without regard
for whether there is any payoff at the end of the line. That should be
by definition illegal. Even the lottery has better odds than that.
If you are prudent you get skrewed and if you are imprudent then you get
the big payoff. That mkes no sense at all.

I never said they couldn't collect on a claim... they first have to
meet the requirements of proof they need it.

You don't pay into SS if you don't work either.

Exactly.
Thanks for making my point, and glad your seeing it my way.

Because they have no basis to make a claim.

It has nothing to do with redistribution, that's the nature of
insurance whether private or otherwise.

And your Socialist Daddy State did destroy it.

At least Newt was being honest when he said; "I don't think the
American people want conservative social engineering anymore than they
want liberal social engineering".

Of course that was taken as a lie by conservatives.
The same conservatives who continually lie about everything they do.

Clueless = Sherlock Holmes in conservative speak TYVM.

Re: First Speeding Arrest in the U.S.

Actually, speeding tickets were being given out before the invention
of the horseless carriage.

Ulysses S. Grant got a $20 speeding ticket for riding his horse too
fast.
