Kindly note as mentioned by Jang news paper report said in the following report that, KESC is charging avg. Rs. 12 - 13 per unit to commercial, which is totally false.  Because if you see the bills of any shops, it is more than Rs. 20 / per unit cost.

Is there anybody to whom we can complaint about this issue???  Our respectable NATIONAL ELECTRIC POWER REGULATORY AUTHORITY is unable to solve this issue.

Interesting to see these machinations work out - Not sure Hillary is the right role model

Tina Brown’s first issue of Newsweek features Hillary Clinton on its cover, as focus on female audience intensifies

Tina Brown's first issue of Newsweek debuts this week.

Tina Brown’s first issue of Newsweek, which debuts this week, features Hillary Clinton on its cover.

On “This Week with Christiane Amanpour,” Brown showed the cover and said of the Secretary of State:

“I think what’s interesting right now is that Hillary Clinton, in fact, has actually at last met her moment, in a sense. Because her long-held conviction has always been that women are the leading indicator. That if you empower women, you’re gonna make huge changes in the democracy movement and, of course, in the GDP of the countries concerned. And she’s been pounding that drum for a long time.

So this issue of Newsweek, you see her really in action, what she is doing. We followed her, for instance, on a trip to Yemen just a few weeks before the Arab revolution and saw her conducting a really robust town hall, where people were being encouraged to talk, were being encouraged to ask about women’s rights.

And after that meeting, she met with a few of the women who clustered around her and asked her and said, ‘Can you help us educate women here, about the country here?’ “

Tina Brown's Talk magazine debuted in August 1999 and folded in 2002.

Interestingly, Brown also featured Clinton on the debut issue of her short-lived “Talk Magazine,” as ABC News and others point out.

Brown took over as editor-in-chief of Newsweek when her Daily Beast website merged with the magazine.

She has said that she plans to cultivate an audience of women.

Of the six stories highlighted on Newsweek’s cover, three are about women:

  • “150 women who shake the world”
  • “Women make lousy men” by Kathleen Parker
  • “Hillary’s War: How she’s shattering glass ceilings everywhere”

Arianna Huffington, who will soon oversee editorial operations at AOL when that company completes its purchase of her Huffington Post, has also indicated women will be an important part of the strategy.

Huffington will join Brown on the final day of this week’s “Women in the World” event, sponsored by The Daily Beast, when they discuss “Women and Media 3.0.”

Clinton will participate in the summit as well, along with former Secretaries of State Condoleezza Rice and Madeleine Albright, U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (Clinton’s New York successor), and “Tiger Mom” Amy Chua.

Amanpour will moderate a panel at the event on the subject of women in the Arab uprisings. MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski will moderate panels on leadership and why women are “stuck in the middle.”

"Using the 1994 standard that was gradually tinkered with to make everything look rosier than it really is (if 10 percent unemployment can be considered rosy), the real seasonally adjusted unemployment rate today hovers at 23 percent. Of course depending on the region, the demographics and the industry, some unemployment is actually pushing over 40 percent."

"The political class and their mouthpieces in the corporate controlled mainstream media are desperately trying to spin the oil price surge as a temporary inconvenience that will not derail their phony recovery story. Brent crude closed at $116 per barrel yesterday. West Texas crude closed at $104 per barrel. Unleaded gas has risen by 22% in the last month and 60% since September 1, 2010. I’m sure this slight increase hasn’t impacted Ben Bernanke or Lloyd Blankfein. Their limo drivers just charge it to their unlimited expense accounts. Joe Sixpack, driving his 15 mpg Dodge RAM pickup, is now forking over an extra $1,200 per year in gas expenditures, not to mention more for everything impacted by oil such as food, utilities, and anything transported to their local Wal-Mart by truck (everything). Luckily, the Federal Reserve and crooked politicians only care about their comrades in the top 1% elitist society, for whom oil is an investment, not an expense. "

Immigration Status Smelling Dog or Illegal Drug Checkpoint?

Another instance of Might Makes Right in the eyes of a U.S. Border Patrol agent.

Immigration Status Smelling Dog or Illegal Drug Checkpoint?

(Note: Video of this checkpoint encounter is available online here)

It's been a while since I've posted a new video of my suspicion-less homeland security checkpoint encounters along SR86 in Southern Arizona. On Friday February 25, 2011 however, the actions of Border Patrol field supervisor Trevino who seized me at the primary stop location near mile marker 147 managed to bring me out of hibernation. Unlike most of my other encounters over the last year or so, Agent Trevino didn't just wave me through but rather wanted me to roll down my window. When I politely declined Trevino's invitation to give him access to the interior of my vehicle, he decided to detain me at the checkpoint until the K9 handler was through harassing another unlucky soul in secondary inspection and had time to divert the dog's attention to me.

While waiting, I asked Trevino who his supervisor was which prompted him to indicate he was the supervisor and arrogantly declare he was the one asking questions here not me. Perhaps forgetting he was merely a public servant in a country where individuals have rights, I reminded Trevino that everyone (in the Border Patrol) has a supervisor and I was also asking questions. Trevino then proceeded to ignore me while continuing the detention. In fact, he ignored me so much, he failed to ask any questions or show any interest in my immigration status.

Given that the only legitimate purpose of an immigration checkpoint removed from the border is to make immigration queries, it was pretty obvious Trevino knew I was traveling within the country lawfully but continued detaining me in violation of Border Patrol policy and federal supreme court case law anyway. He did this in order to allow the K9 handler time to bring his drug-sniffing dog around to my vehicle. This represented an extended detention absent reasonable suspicion, let alone probable cause, that I was transporting anything illegal in the vehicle (assuming the dog wasn't trained to detect which vehicle occupants are lawfully in the country and which aren't...)

The handler brought his dog over to and around my vehicle. Towards the end of the video just prior to being waved through, the handler allowed his dog to jump up on my vehicle & its nails to slide down the paneling showing that not only do these agents have no respect for the rule of law but no respect for private property either.

Towards the end of the video clip, I included a section of video from Steven Anderson's court appearance back in December of 2009. Additional information regarding Anderson's experience at a suspicion-less internal checkpoint can be found here.

Finally, to place this within proper geographic context, the suspicion-less homeland security checkpoint depicted in this article, where armed Border Patrol agents (who aren't actually patrolling the border) hang out to harass domestic traffic absent individualized suspicion, is located along an East-West highway over forty miles North of the border and never intersects the border at any point. Rather, it connects local communities in Southern Arizona and local residents have no recourse but to put up with this crap on a daily basis while going about their lives and trying to get to and from work.
