Dil_ e_ viraan hai teri yaad hay tanhayi hai
Zindagi dard ki bahoon main simat ayi hai
Mere mahboob zamane main koy tujh sa kahan
Tere jane se meri jaan pe ban ayi hai
Aisa ujraa hai umedoon ka chaman tere baad
Phool murjhaye baharoon pe khizaan chayi hai
Chaa gaye charoon taraf gahm k andhere sayee
Meri taqdeer mere haal pe sharmayi hay
Zindagi dard ki bahoon main simat ayi hay
Dil e viraan hay teri yaad hay tanhayi hay...

Today marks the start of the tenth year of the Afghanistan War, making it the longest U.S. war ever. In a fitting tribute come allegations of war crimes in western Kandahar Province by U.S. soldiers who murdered Afghan civilians for sport, collected body parts as souvenirs, and committed other atrocities. The New York Times asked Afghans about the impact of such actions, and others like them, on their grievous lives. They also profile the life and death of some of the 30,000 U.S. soldiers dubbed, at one military funeral, "this noble generation of heroes."

Re: Israel approves loyalty oath

I don't know of any Islamic State that has a pledge of allegiance, off-
hand,... but I'm willing to stand corrected... if you do... Annointed
One....
I'm not trying to be a stickler.... many Islamic States are far from
being Democratic Republics, that foes without saying, It is doubtful
that the Islamic States even aspire to Democratic Republic standing.
Nevertheless, it is clear that Israel does claim to be a Democratic
Republic and holds itself apart from it's regional neighbors because
of it.....a bit of a setback, at the least, if that's truly the case.
