An Atheist group is wishing to sue the NY 9/11 Museum, because such is
making an 'icon' out of part of the fallen World Trade Centers. The
item of note is a portion of the heavy structural frame of the
building that had impaled into the debris like a tilted crucifix. Of
course, within that pile of debris were the crushed bodies of people
of all faiths, probably including numbers of Atheists. That cross was
a calming tribute to all who died, and an inspiration for thousands to
work tirelessly to find, identify, and respect as many of the fallen
as possible.
The pending lawsuit is unconstitutional, because "having no belief"
isn't a protected religion. Even if it were, the mere paying of some
of one's taxes to construct the 9/11 museum would not empower Atheists
to dictate anything to anyone. Yes, every "right" can have a
corresponding opposing right so long as the latter isn't a crime or
isn't disallowed by the present Constitution.
I observed, long ago, that the vast majority of national and
international problems are group-against-group problems rather than
individual-against-individual. That is why I made it the core
objective of my New Constitution to totally eliminate group
influences. That would mean that no organized group (states, counties
and municipalities being exceptions) can sue anyone nor any government
entity for anything. Having class-action lawsuits would continue to
be a possibility provided the supposed injuries weren't defined by any
group-affiliated biases. Having worked on my New Constitution for 16
plus years, I am satisfied that the quickest route to having national
and world harmony is to LOSE our group-against-group sparring and to
start loving our neighbors for what we have in common rather than
constantly calling attention to our differences. Doing the latter
would be easier, if religious raiment would be worn only at one's
personal religious services, and not be like 'flags of separatism'
that so continue to divide the world.
