Let's face it.
The Left don't like America and would like nothing better than to transform this country beyond recognition. And if they can't get their way via lawful democratic institutions and process, they'll just do away with elections, Congress, and the Constitution altogether.
Three weeks ago, on September 27, North Carolina's Demonrat governor, Beverly Perdue, proposed suspending Congressional elections for two years so that members of Congress can "focus on jobs."
The latest Demonrat to make similar noises is Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. (Illinois).
In interview with Nicholas Ballasy of the Daily Caller on October 12, 2011, Jackson compared Obama's opponents to the Confederate racists, said the federal government should immediately hire all of America's unemployed at $40,000 per year, and called for Obama to ignore the U.S. Constitution.
Obama himself just told his "jobs council" to find ways to act without congressional authorization and shove as much of his failed "jobs bill" down America's throat as it can. ABC News provides the details:
"We're not going to wait for Congress. So my instruction to… all the advisers who are sitting around the table is, scour this report, identify all those areas in which we can act administratively without additional congressional authorization, and just get it done," the president said at a meeting of his Jobs and Competitiveness Council in Pittsburgh.
Obama also said: "These days, things don't move as quickly through Congress as we would like. But there are certain ideas that are contained in this jobs council report that historically have received bipartisan support. And the election is 14 months away, or 13 months away. We can't wait until another election before we start acting on some of those ideas."
By the way, Obama's "jobs council" is packed with – surprise! – top Obama campaign contributors. U.C. Berkeley's student newspaper, Daily Californian, reports that at least 10 of the 27 members on the council donated $4,600, the maximum legal amount for individuals, to Obama's 2008 campaign, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. One of them is Laura Tyson, professor of global management in the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. Tyson has held influential government positions since the early 1990s, serving as former President Bill Clinton 's national economic adviser from 1995 to 1996 and as a member of the National Security Council and Domestic Policy Council during his administration.
