This is sure to piss off his food Nazi of a wife. Eating doughnuts instead of those delicious apple slices? Michelle needs to get her own house in order before telling Americans what they should/shouldn't eat.
The Hill reports:
President Obama made a pit stop on Thursday for some very unhealthy cuisine on his way to a Washington rally with Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.).
At about 9:15 a.m., the presidential motorcade stopped at Top Pot Doughnuts, a downtown Seattle coffeehouse and bakery.
As Michael Jackson's "Beat It" played on the radio, Obama at first ordered a dozen donuts. Then, noticing his staff members standing by the door, he doubled the order.
"I think we've gotta sample everything right? So why don't you just give us a sample," the president said to the clerk.After greeting patrons, the president paid for the donuts and tipped the checkout clerk before sharing one of the oversized donuts with Murray and press secretary Robert Gibbs.
"This is outstanding," Obama said of the donut. Then, as if in a nod to the First Lady's campaign to combat childhood obesity, Obama added, "You can't eat this every day."
An employee quickly corrected the president, telling him that in fact, some people have donuts every day.
It won't always be this way once the government tells you what you can eat and how many you can eat each day.
