Dear all,
Now as GPM has entered the dirty race of politics, we need to examine his credentials, leaving aside others for a while, as we know them all very well!!!
The credibility of Musharraff is at stake, or, he is not credible to lead the nation, as his words of apology are not enough. Aside from a long list of achievements, we are very unsure of his weaknesses, and some are dangerous, till he clarifies. He made many mistakes, but many ignored those and gave him the support because most of them were done due to the government lacking public support (in the last days), but now that is not the case, and his stand on many issues is either dangerously wrong, or he is quiet about it, and I list some of them!
1. He has joined the political process, so he supports this process of looters (democracy), and that is a big question mark!
2. It is for the first time he talked about the indian games inside Afghanistan against Pakistan. He never talked about them before, never talked to Nato to control India when he was in power.
3. He considers the US invasion of Afghanistan a necessity, and considers the Afghan taliban as extremist and the action against them as justified. This is a very sad, dangerous, and wrong stand.
4. He is too soft and bent towards the US.
5. He has sold the Pakistani nationals to US, will he continue the same? (today's politicians and parliament are all silent on the issue)
6. His treatment to Dr. AQ Khan was deplorable. (the treatment continues today, and all the above are quiet)
7. He has a very soft corner towards Israel (one of the biggest enemies of Pakistan), and he initiated the talk of its recognition, will he continue in the same direction?
8. Drone attacks continue today. He sold out that part of sovereignty. He is in no pressure now, but he do not condemn these gross violations against the nation.
9. He has made a U-turn on Kashmir, and stopped all justified activities to support the mujahideens. This is a very dangerous stance. He initiated dialogue, that we all know is fake, but how come he gave up on his strength, of support to the people of Kashmir under occupation, just because talks are underway? He still have that policy?
10. He came close to accepting the LOC line as the border, with india. That is a very dangerous stance.
11. When he was required to consult (on Afghan/Kashmir policy), he did not, when he was required to act (build the dams), he started consulting.
These are areas where he is either wrong or quiet, and his soft corner towards US/Israel is totally unacceptable. He got to do a lot more than saying I apologize, because apology is only an apology when he thinks he did wrong, and if he really believes he was wrong, he need to come clean on each one of the above issues, very specifically, and only then he can be trusted!!!
