**JP** What a shame - A DENIAL OF INJUSTICE BY FEW

This is gross injustice of the highest order, where accused are being treated as criminals, without trial, merely on allegations, just because there are other "business interests", and this in in their own words, read the statement of the ICC and know the reasons. if one still denies what is going on, then that surely is a state of denial but of injustice!!!! I hope people are courageous enough to stand for the oppressed!!! 

ICC continued to pressure the PCB to suspend the players (calling it the right thing to do) and the PCB was more concerned with the public response in the coming matches (as they do not want a loss of revenue), and so the poor players were suspended due to such reasons..what a shame!!!! Now they are even removed from the awards list, even before any trial has even started..this is the craziest way things can happen....shame after shame, as we watch these injustices!

Mohammad Amir to be struck from ICC Awards list

Mohammad Amir, the 18-year-old fast bowler who is one of three Pakistan players currently under investigation for spot-fixing, will be removed from the list of nominees for the ICC's emerging player of the year award, ESPNcricinfo has learnt. Mohammad Asif has also been cut from the Test cricketer of the year category.

What did you try to impress upon the PCB? 
Earlier in the week, [we urged them] to do the right thing, which was to not select the players because there were just too many allegations, too much speculation and the public would not have confidence in the players. They [the players] needed the opportunity to clear themselves, so we were throughout the course of the week trying to impress upon them to do the right thing and not involve them in the remainder of the tour, for their own sake. And then on Wednesday night, Mr [Ijaz] Butt was quoted as saying that they were available to play. We realised that if that was indeed the case, we needed to move quicker. We worked quite hard to complete what we needed to do. We were surprised the next morning when they announced the non-selection, but by then we had progressed to a point completing our work.

What was the ECB's stance throughout all of this?
The ECB were of a similar mindset, that they should not be involved in the series. I'm sure their concerns would have revolved around the public support [for the limited-over series] which would have been their primary concern. I am not sure if their commercial partners were impressing anything upon them.
