Comment to a story about Bawney Fwank and his opponent

    His opponent is a Marine Reserve officer who has served in Iraq and Afghanistan.   Here is one of the commenters speaking about the candidates:

So the guy was a Democrat until he started hanging out with a bunch of testosterone-fueled goons in the Marines. Instead of helping his comrades become more worldly and tolerant, he goes the other way to avoid standing out. I'll take an overweight, big-mouthed gay man over another meathead anyday.
