Sweet Revenge for a Broken Guitar

Sweet Revenge for a Broken Guitar
A  Canadian musician named Dave Carroll from Halifax recently had difficulty with United Airlines.

United apparently damaged his treasured Taylor guitar
($3500) during a flight. Dave spent over 9 months trying to get United to pay for damages caused by baggage handlers to his custom Taylor guitar.

During his final exchange with the United Customer Relations Manager, he stated that he was left with no choice other than to create a music video for youtube exposing their lack of cooperation. The Manager responded: "Good luck with that one, pal."

So he posted a retaliatory video on youtube. The video
has since received over 6 million hits. United Airlines contacted the musician and attempted settlement in exchange for pulling  the video. Naturally his response was: "Good luck with that one, pal."

Taylor Guitars sent the musician 2 new custom guitars in
appreciation for the product recognition from the video that      has led to a sharp increase in orders.

Here's the video, and it's GREAT! A Must Watch;

The Obama Syndrome?

The Obama Syndrome?

By Jim Yardley

Psychological disorders are nothing to laugh at. People with phobias, for instance, truly suffer from them, whether they are Trypanophobia (the fear of injections), Pteromerhanophobia (the fear of flying), Ochlophobia (the fear of crowds or mobs), Ceraunophobia (the fear of thunder and lightning) or claustrophobia (the fear of small, enclosed spaces).

Many people have mild phobias. Personally, I'm not a big fan of heights, but that discomfort doesn't incapacitate me, while there are other people for whom such disorders are chronic and crippling.

There are eating disorders. There are behavior disorders. There are all sorts of psychological flaws in the human psyche. All are real and not imagined and every one inflicts real suffering on those afflicted.

But at what point does a disorder become a danger to the person suffering it, or worse, a danger to those around them?

The question relates to our president. Now in the spirit of full disclosure, I am not a trained psychologist or psychiatrist, but I have taken a college level course or two. As in every Psych 101 course, I, like every student in the class, was convinced that I suffered whatever aberration was being discussed that day. So, as I say, I am not an expert. But also like most people who have taken an introductory psychology course, some things stuck with me, most probably because they were so unusual.

That being said, many writers have used the "narcissist" when describing the President's personality. Not a particularly obscure disorder unless carried to the "danger to self or others" degree. Until the individual gets to that point the disorder simply is an annoying trait, and most of us have known people who are narcissists or perhaps are related to such a person or even dated someone like that at one time or another.

But there are two other disorders that are closely related to narcissism: Munchausen Syndrome, particularly the sub-type pseudologia fantastica, and Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy (MSBP). From what I've read, these two disorders appear to be narcissism on steroids.

Pseudologia fantastica is apparent when the patient (for lack of a better term) displays a compulsion to create innumerable fantastic stories, at the center of which the patient is always shown in a heroic light. The patient will apparently create these stories that have at their heart a kernel of truth, and embroider them outrageously to show that they are brave, heroic, irreplaceable and so on.

In a very mild form, this might even be just a case of "resume enhancement" that is seen day after day in almost every business, or listening to a guy in a bar after a few brews telling you how he actually "won the big game" with very little help from his high-school teammates. It happens. It's annoying. It's usually harmless.

Of course, it's usually considered harmless unless the patient is "enhancing" his resume in order to become president of the United States.

Many others have looked at the validity of stories told in President Obama's memoirs, Dreams from My Father and The Audacity of Hope, and found that kernel of truth. They also found truckloads of fabrication and embroidery. Even that erstwhile defender of all things progressive, The New York Times, has written in a review of David Maraniss' book (who incidentally is an employee of the other über-progressive east coast newspaper, The Washington Post) that admittedly there are significant differences between reality as we know it, and the reality that Barack Obama describes. In the Times review, the author (Michael D. Shear) quotes Mr. Maraniss as saying:

... attributes some of the differences to the kind of family lore that is often exaggerated. He notes that the story about the death of Mr. Obama's step-grandfather - allegedly killed while fighting Dutch troops in Indonesia - was 'a concocted myth in almost all respects.' Mr. Maraniss writes that he died trying to hang drapes.

Exaggerated? When is something that is "a concocted myth" classed as an exaggeration? Sister Mary must have missed mentioning that when she was teaching about the Catholic ritual of confession for the forgiveness of sin while I was in grammar school.

I can see how well that would go over when I told the priest in the confessional -- "Bless me Father, for I have not really sinned. I didn't actually lie. I only created a 'concocted myth' ".

Yeah, I can see that selling like hotcakes.

This is the kind of exaggeration that seems to be typical of those suffering pseudologia fantastica, except that in this illustration, it is Barack Obama's memoir. By association with his (composite?) step-grandfather, it is Obama himself who appears heroic by association.

Again, keep in mind, I am only making observations, not a diagnosis, or as a friend puts it, "I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'".

More disturbing is the second disorder. Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy (MSBP) is evidenced most commonly, according to the literature, among those who would be classified as "caregivers", such as nurses.

The caregiver suffering MSBP will actually harm the person in their care so that they can then "heroically" save the dependent person and be acclaimed by all as a wonderful, truly epic hero. Occasionally the person suffering MSBP goes too far and it costs the life of the child.

This is where a disorder becomes "a danger to others", whether the person suffering MSBP is harming an infant to gain acclaim or harming an entire nation.

The behavior of the current resident of the Oval Office appears to be, in many respects, irrational and positively harmful to the United States. If something is being done that is harmful to the person (or nation) for which the caregiver is responsible, and that caregiver has been told innumerable times that their behavior is potentially harmful, one must conclude that it is not being done by accident, or misunderstanding.

Once again, please keep in mind that I am only making observations, not a diagnosis, since I am clearly not qualified to do anything remotely like that. I believe that someone who is reading this actually has the proper medical and psychiatric training to at least validate these observations, and offer a different explanation for behavior that certainly appears to be "a danger to others."

If there are trained psychiatric professionals who read this, please share your expertise with the rest of us. I, for one, would like some reassurance that I'm not living at the mercy of an individual who would be, in Rocky Balboa's classic phrase, "mentally irregular."

Ron Paul Barred From Speaking at Fascist RNC Convention in Tampa

Ron Paul Barred From Speaking at Fascist RNC Convention in Tampa
Posted by Lew Rockwell on August 6, 2012 08:21 AM

Even though this is an outrage in one senseRon Paul is one of the very few non- sociopaths in Republican politicsit also makes sense. After all, he would have been required to Heil Romney in his speech, in words written by the Mittster's minions, and that is something Ron Paul would never do. After all, Romneywarmonger, Keynesian, bankster, nationalist, gun-controller, socialized medicine advocate, dronist, torturer, police statistis the exact opposite of Ron Paul. Romney clearly yearns to commit mass murder against the Iranians, to the cheers of the GOP. Let's face it: Ron Paul is far too good for the Republican party. And in what passes for its heart, that criminal organization knows it. (Thanks to Travis Holte)

UPDATE from Chris Kates:

It's a good thing. I doubt there would be many in attendance who would be affected by Dr. Paul's wise words. I am reminded: "Speak not in the ears of fools: because they will despise the instruction of thy speech" Proverbs 23:9.

Romney Will NOT Address MB Infiltration or Freedom of Opinion!

The Muslim Brotherhood infiltration of America and the right to have an opinion are NOT issues that are part of the campaign?  Is he purposely throwing the election shades of McRino? Watch the video.  JL

The president of the company spoke in favor of traditional marriage. The liberals attacked him. Hundreds of thousands turned out in support of the company by eating their chicken. Romney doesn't want to talk about it.

Watch the video here.

Not only won't he talk about Chick-fil-A, he won't talk about security problems in the State Department. "Those are not things that are part of my campaign," he says.

So supporting traditional marriage and preventing Muslim Brotherhood infiltration of the State Department are non-issues for Romney.

So what is his campaign about anyway?

Can you tell me? Let me know at Kincaid@comcast.net

Cliff Kincaid, President

Re: 10 Facts Revealing Conspiracy Behind Aurora Shooters

I am not one that buys into conspiracies....(At least very often)  but I have to admit.....Something stinks here in this whole sad situation.......I don't have a clue what the goal could have been, unless someone can tie this into the push for that purported UN gun restriction treaty/law.....That seems a bit far fetched to me.

10 Facts Revealing Conspiracy Behind Aurora Shooters
August 4, 2012

1. James Holmes had no job, was earning unemployment but was able to purchase close to 10k in weapons, explosives, and tactical equipment, and this all happened within 2 months. The chances that Holmes could afford to finance this on his own is highly unlikely. Someone helped finance this attack, follow the money and we will find the masterminds.

2. The testimony of 2 key eye witnesses totally contradicts the official story of there being one shooter, with no accomplice in the attack. One witness testified that the tear gas canisters came from both sides of the theatre, a second witness testified that before the movie began he saw someone sit down in the front row, and shortly after sitting down his phone rang and instead of walking into the main lobby to take the call, he walked over to the emergency exit to the right side of the theatre opened the door and looked to be signaling someone outside the theatre. Shortly after the shooter made entrance through the emergency exit and commenced his attack.

3. Evidence photos - Evidence photos have surfaced of a gas mask outside of the emergency exit of theatre 8, police reported that when they arrested the shooter in the white Hyundai outside of theatre 9 he was wearing a gas mask, that would make 2 gas masks that were recovered. Also photos show the AR-15 propped up against the wall opposite of the fire exit door of theatre 9, police radio communications reported that night that the rifle was found inside the theatre, and even if the the AR-15 was discarded outside the theatre do you think the gunman was going to take the time to set the weapon down ? The Hyundai - why was the window missing? I thought he put up no resistance as he was being taken into custody ?

4. Radio communications from the night of the attack -

*First report of suspects was two men fleeing the theatres both wearing back packs, what happened to these two suspects??

*Reports of three people dragging an unknown individual into a non descript vehicle and speeding off

*the majority of injured and witnesses were not given access to ambulances, they were to be transported by other vehicles to the high school. WHY?

* Police radio that one of the shooters may be wearing blue and plaid shirt

*Magazine and AR-15 dropped in theatre

5. Pool of eye witnesses - It was reported that the theatre had over 300 people in it, there have been less than 10 eye witnesses with a only a few taking most of the spotlight ie. Jennifer Seeger. The KEY eye witnesses seem to have very well rehearsed testimony but have not given much sense to whether there testimony is actually plausible - Jennifer Seeger has consistently given a description of the shooter, that miraculously matches James Holmes to a T, even though she has told reporters that she was face down in the aisle, and surrounded by tear gas/gas obstructing her view. Seeger also described the gas canisters down to the colour, personally I believe this was an impossibility in that scenario. She also mentioned that hot shell casings were hitting her in the forehead as the gunman was spraying the theatre, how is this possible? she was on her front was she not? Another point that should be noted is that for a event that involved 300 people, there has been a surprisingly low amount of postings on youtube, facebook, and Twitter. No one who was involved in this event is talking about it, beyond that small group of witnesses that have been talking to national media outlets.

6. Holmes booby trapped apartment - How are we to believe that a 24 yr old, former jewish camp counselor, gaming nerd, science rock star, Neuroscience PHD had the skill set to set up a system of explosive devices and booby traps that would have the FBI bewildered for almost two days?? How are we to believe that ?? There is no way this maze of death was the work of one neuroscience student. It's BS.

7. Rumours of Holmes's Neuroscience program being funded by DARPA - Neursoscience + DARPA + MKULTRA the perfect marriage

8. Anti-gun agenda - Didn't anyone notice how quick public officials were ready to talk to the media about antigun legislation ? Bloomberg publically called out Obama and Romney to do something about the lack of gun control in the US, excellent timing seeing as the UN has legislation on the table to ban small arms globally.

9. The fact that Holmes allegedly bought the guns legally, to me this is the biggest smoking gun that this attack is being used as sounding board for the anti gun/disarmament agenda, think about it...most intelligent people who were planning an attack like this would do everything they could to stay off of the radar, buying the guns legally doesn't allow one to do that. What they are trying to do is demonize the legal gun owner, saying hey Holmes wasn't a criminal he was a normal guy who went crazy, and due to his ability to legally buy these firearms he was able to pull off these attacks.

10. The roomates - The initial reports were than Holmes was living with two other people, but once people started asking who these roommates were, the story had changed to no roommates that he lived by himself. The roommate story had to change because everyone was asking the same thing, if Holmes had roommates where are they ? Are they in the apartment with all of those explosive materials? It makes no sense!!! I don't think there were any explosives in Holmes residence, I think that they were buying time to construct this BS story.

Re: Sikh Temple killer of 7 is former US Army psych-op

I find this who situation very strange. I have never heard of problems with Sikhs in the U.S..

The are a warrior culture, but still haven't much of a history of violence. In the U.S. at least.

Traditional Hindus see them as a sort of apostates as it is a offshoot of Hinduism.

And we in Canada know all about their animosity towards each other.

There were 2 bombs planted on Air India planes in 1985 by a small group of Sikhs in Vancouver. Flight 182 blew up over the Irish sea. Killing 329. And in a cobombing a bomb exploded at Narita International Airport in Japan where it killed 2 baggage handlers. It went off early as the terrorists forgot about Daylight Savings Time.

The Sikhs and Hindus in the south mainland area of British Columbia is ongoing with the occasional gun fight or murder.

The muslims in India don't like the Sikhs. But then, who do they like?

So, I am very curious as to just what possible motive this shooter could have had.

The idea that the U.S. government would be involved begs the question. Why?

I suspect there is a more personal motive. An argument with a landlord or neighbour.
And not some grand plan.

I will certainly be watching this case.

CBS News: Shooter Identified As Former US Military Member

August 6, 2012

OAK CREEK, Wis. (CBSDC/AP) — Authorities tell CBS News that the shooter behind the deadly massacre at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin Sunday has been identified as 40-year-old Wade Michael Page.

Page previously served in the U.S. military, but was no longer on active duty, sources tell CBS News.

CBS News reports that Page enlisted in the Army in April 1992 and was given a less-than-honorable discharge in October 1998. He was last stationed in Fort Bragg, N.C., serving in the psychological operations unit.

Sunday's shooting outside the temple in suburban Milwaukee left seven dead, including the suspect, and three others critically wounded in what police called an act of domestic terrorism.

Satpal Kaleka, wife of the temple's president, Satwant Singh Kaleka, was in the front room and saw the gunman enter the temple, according to Harpreet Singh, their nephew.

"He did not speak, he just began shooting," said Singh, relaying a description of the attack from Satpal Kaleka.

Kaleka said the 6-foot-tall bald white man — who worshippers said they had never before seen at the temple — seemed like he had a purpose and knew where he was going.

Hiroshima is a war crime that haunts my family, 67 years on

Hiroshima is a war crime that haunts my family, 67 years on
The US intentionally prolonged the war for the sole purpose of testing the atomic bomb on real cities
Phil Strongman
Sunday 05 August 2012

On 6 August 1945 – 67 years ago today – a control operator at the Japanese Broadcasting Corporation noticed that there was no signal from Radio Hiroshima. It had, seemingly, gone off air. Telephone calls couldn't reach the city centre either. There was a simple reason for this – the city centre wasn't there any more.

At 8.15am an American B-29 bomber had dropped an atom bomb on Hiroshima. People were literally vaporised by a light '"brighter than a thousand suns". A firestorm and 600mph winds sucked the remaining air out of the downtown district. Soon a mushroom cloud spiralled into the stratosphere, and under it 140,000 civilians lay dead.

As Japan absorbed what had happened and its rulers prepared a formal protest at the new weapon, a second strike was prepared. The target was Kokura but on 9 August, it was obscured by fog so Nagasaki was hit. The death toll was 70,000. On 12 August Japan's Emperor, Hirohito, said surrender was inevitable. The war was over, but the bomb debate was just beginning.

Apologists for these events have used two arguments. These attacks were necessary because Japan wouldn't surrender without them, and because a land invasion against Japan's disciplined troops would have caused 300,000 US casualties or more. The bombing also kept the Soviets out of Japan and helped speed the end of the war. This thought now dominates – anyone disagreeing is "a soft peacenik". No one objected to the A-Bomb's use in 1945, we are told. No one who knew the score amongst the military high-ups. There was no alternative.

But the argument that no one in the know objected is a fallacy. General Eisenhower opposed it, "Japan was already defeated… dropping the bomb was completely unnecessary." The Pacific Fleet commander Admiral Nimitz agreed: "The Japanese had, in fact, already sued for peace. The atomic bomb played no decisive part, from a purely military point of view, in their defeat." Admiral Leahy, President Truman's Chief of Staff, concurred: the atomic attacks were "of no material assistance in our war against Japan. The Japanese were already ready to surrender…"

By the spring of 1945 Japan was faltering. Germany surrendered in May and since April US aircraft had roamed almost at will over Japan. Heavy bombing raids using dozens of B-29s were met with token resistance, and the firebombing of Tokyo had not been seriously opposed. A sea blockade had decimated imports.

During this time Japan put out peace feelers: on 25 July Japan tried to get envoys to Russia, carrying Imperial letters which read, in part: "His Majesty… mindful of the fact that the present war daily brings greater evil and sacrifice of the peoples… desires from his heart that it may be quickly terminated. But as long as England and the US insist upon unconditional surrender the Japanese Empire has no alternative but to fight on… for the honour and existence of the Motherland …"

These feelers were rebuffed by the US demand for unconditional surrender. But this was unacceptable to Japan, for it could mean that Hirohito –seen as semi-divine – could be put on trial. In mid-1945 The Washington Post kept asking why Truman was demanding unconditional surrender while granting that a condition could swiftly end hostilities. In July, Time wondered whether the answer was some "deep secret" while the United States News confirmed, days after Hiroshima, that "competent testimony exists to prove that Japan was seeking to surrender many weeks before the atomic bomb…"

And, of course, post-Nagasaki, the US did grant the condition that the Emperor be left alone. So if America could agree to this in August, why not in July or even June? Why not end the war earlier? US stubbornness only makes sense if it's seen for what it really is: an excuse to delay peace long enough to test the bomb on real cities. Which is why previous heavy bombing raids had always spared the first atomic targets: Hiroshima, Kokura, Niigata and Kyoto.

These centres had been left virtually free of heavy bombing for just this purpose, so the effect of atomic destruction could be seen on "virgin targets". There is no other reason why military-industrial cities like Kokura, Hiroshima and Niigata were ignored. Nagasaki was not on the "death list" – it was hit by a small raid on 1 August – but it replaced Kyoto when it was decided that the latter should be spared. In 1958 the rightist National Review admitted that "the main purpose of using the atomic bombs on Japan was not military, but diplomatic, and that the real target was not Japan but Russia…"

So where does this leave us? US demands for Japanese unconditional surrender were always unrealistic – and deliberately so. This intentionally prolonged the war for the sole purpose of testing the atomic bomb on real cities. These attacks killed thousands, as did delaying the peace. This also allowed Stalin to take Manchuria, and Soviet triumph there inadvertently helped Chairman Mao to seize China, a move that later killed millions. This inevitably led to the Korean War. It is difficult to think of a less desirable set of consequences.

My father-in-law – a nissi healer called Kiekazu Higashikawa – was in nearby Kokura on 9 August 1945. He was then 15, a shy Japanese teenager anxiously awaiting his father. A bank of cloud saved him from being vaporised. It also, indirectly, saved my future wife – and our children. The children of the next target, Nagasaki, were not so lucky, and they became the first victims of a Cold War crime against humanity. Why is it so difficult for some people, even now, to admit this fact?

CALIFORNIA DREAMIN' !!!!

COMING TO YOUR STATE SOON.

 CALIFORNIA IS OBAMA'S DREAM

California is the Administration's Dream Come True

Written by Roger Hedgecock, former Mayor of San Diego     February 13, 2012

I live in California . If you were wondering what living in Obama's
second term would be like, wonder no longer. We in California are
living there now.

California is a one-party state dominated by a virulent Democrat Left

enabled by a complicit media where every agency of local, county, and

state government is run by and for the public employee unions.

The unemployment rate is 12%.

California has more folks on food stamps than any other state, has added

so many benefits and higher rates to Medicaid that we call "Medi-Cal."

Our K-12 schools have more administrators than teachers, with smaller

classes but lower test scores and higher dropout rates with twice the

per-student budget of 15 years ago. Good job, Brownie.

This week, the once and current Gov. Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown had to

confess that the "balanced" state budget adopted five months ago was

billions in the red because actual tax revenues were billions lower than the

airy-fairy revenue estimates on which the balance was predicated.

After trimming legislators' perks and reducing the number of cell
phones provided to state civil servants, the governor intoned that
drastic budget reductions had already hollowed out state programs for

the needy, law enforcement and our schoolchildren. California

government needed more money.

Echoing the Occupy movement, the governor proclaimed the rich must

pay their fair share. Fair share? The top 1% of California income earners

currently pays 50% of the state's income tax.

California has seven income tax brackets. The top income tax rate is 9.3%,

which is slapped on the greedy rich earning at least $47,056 a year. Income

of more than $1 million pays the "millionaires' and billionaires'" surcharge

tax rate of 10.3%.

Brown's proposal would add 2% for income over $250,000. A million dollar

income would then be taxed at 12.3%. And that's just for the state.

Brown also proposed a one-half-cent sales tax increase, which would bring

sales taxes (which vary by county) up to 7.75% to as much as 10%.

Both tax increases would be on the ballot in 2012.

The sales tax increase proposal immediately brought howls of protest from

the Left (of Brown!). Charlie Eaton, a sociology grad student at UC Berkeley

and leader of the UC Student-Workers Union, said, "We've paid enough.

It's time for millionaires to pay."

At least five other ballot measures to raise taxes are circulating for
signatures to get on the 2012 ballot in California . The governor's
proposals are the most conservative.

The Obama way doesn't end with taxes.

The governor and the state legislature continue to applaud the efforts of the

California High Speed Rail Authority to build a train connecting Los Angeles

and San Francisco . Even though the budget is three times the voter-approved

amount, and the first segment will only connect two small towns in the agricultural

Central Valley. But hey, if we build it,they will ride.

And we don't want to turn down the Obama bullet-train bucks Florida and

other states rejected because the operating costs would bankrupt them.

Can't happen here because we're already insolvent.

If we get into real trouble with the train, we'll just bring in the Chinese.

It worked with the Bay Bridge reconstruction. After the 1989 earthquake,

the bridge connecting Oakland and San Francisco was rebuilt with steel

made in China . Workers from China too. Paid for with money borrowed

from China . Makes perfect sense.

In California , we hate the evil, greedy rich (except the rich in
Hollywood , in sports, and in drug dealing). But we love people

who have broken into California to eat the bounty created by the
productive rich.

Illegals get benefits from various generous welfare programs, free
medical care, free schools for their kids, including meals, and of
course, instate tuition rates and scholarships too. Nothing's too good for our guests.

To erase even a hint of criticism of illegal immigration, the
California Legislature is considering a unilateral state amnesty.
Democrat State Assemblyman Felipe Fuentes has proposed an initiative

that would bar deportation of illegal's from California .

Interesting dilemma for Obama there. If immigration is exclusively a

federal matter, and Obama has sued four states for trying to enforce

federal immigration laws he won't enforce, what will the President do

to a California law that exempts California from federal immigration law?

California is also near fulfilling the environmentalist dream of
deindustrialization.

After driving out the old industrial base (auto and airplane assembly, for example),

air and water regulators and tax policies are now driving out the high-tech, biotech

and even Internet-based companies that were supposed to be California 's future.

The California cap-and-trade tax on business in the name of reducing

CO2 makes our state the leader in wacky environmentalism and guarantees

a further job exodus from the state.

Even green energy companies can't do business in California . Solyndra

went under, taking its taxpayer loan guarantee with it.

No job is too small to escape the regulators. The state has even
banned weekend amateur gold miners from the historic gold

mining streams in the Sierra Nevada Mountains .

In fact, more and more of California 's public land is off-limits to
recreation by the people who paid for that land. Unless you're
illegal.

Then you can clear the land, set up marijuana plantations at will,
bring in fertilizers that legal farmers can no longer use, exploit
illegal farm workers who live in hovels with no running water or
sanitation, and protect your investment with armed illegals carrying

guns no California citizen is allowed to own.

The rest of us only found out about these plantations when the
workers' open campfire started one of those devastating fires that
have killed hundreds of people and burned out thousands of homes

in California over the last decade.

It's often said that whatever happens in California will soon happen in your state.

You'd better hope that's wrong.
