(Newser) – A wind power development in Oregon should be allowed to kill a few golden eagles as long as it contributes to conservation efforts, the federal government says. Authorities have recommended granting a first-of-its-kind "take" permit to the wind farm, giving it permission to kill up to three golden eagles over five years with its turbines, MSNBC reports.

Changes made to the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act introduced the permits for activities that are lawful but may kill eagles. The wind company was the first to apply for one. Conservation groups say they don't have a problem with the granting of a permit in this case, but they worry that the government may start granting many more such permits.

Not a day goes by that you don't hear about some private developer that is not being permitted to build on his property or farmers that are not being allowed to divert water to their crops because a wacko environmentalist wants to protect a salamander or a type of minnow. But when it comes anything on the "green agenda" then all bets are off including destroying these majestic birds.

This should not surprise anyone, this administration has already targeted our economy, healthcare system, military and now even our wildlife to push the nonsensical green agenda

Hey, I've got a budget cutting idea for Obama so he can keep all of his "social justice" programs going full blast: Get rid of the Secret Service!

That way, Obama will feel the same nakedness that the American People are feeling right about now:

Obama plans to cut tens of thousands of ground troops

(Reuters) - The Obama administration will unveil a "more realistic" vision for the military on Thursday, with plans to cut tens of thousands of ground troops and invest more in air and sea power at a time of fiscal restraint, officials familiar with the plans said on Wednesday.

The strategic review of U.S. security interests will also emphasize an American presence in Asia, with less attention overall to Europe, Africa and Latin America alongside slower growth in the Pentagon's budget, the officials said.

Though specific budget cut and troop reduction figures are not set to be announced on Thursday, officials confirmed to Reuters they would amount to a 10-15 percent decline in Army and Marine Corps numbers over the next decade, translating to tens of thousands of troops.

The most profound shift in the strategic review is an acceptance that the United States, even with the world's largest military budget, cannot afford to maintain the ground troops to fight more than one major war at once. That is a move away from the "win-win" strategy that has dominated Pentagon funding decisions for decades.

The move to a "win-spoil" plan, allowing U.S. forces to fight one campaign and stop or block another conflict, includes a recognition that the White House would need to ramp up public support for further engagement and draw more heavily on reserve and national guard troops when required.

"As Libya showed, you don't necessarily have to have boots on the ground all the time," an official said, explaining the White House view.

"We are refining our strategy to something that is more realistic," the official added.

it's sad that they are willing to sacrifice the safety our citizens

On August 26, 2011, I wrote a post titled "We Didn't Elect a Queen," about unnamed "White House sources" stating that Michelle Obama has spent $10 million of U.S. taxpayers' money on vacations alone in the past year.

Calling her "disgusting" and "a vacation junkie", the "top source" said Moochelle had indulged in five-star hotels, where she splashes out on expensive massages and alcohol. "It's disgusting. Michelle is taking advantage of her privileged position while the most hardworking Americans can barely afford a week or two off work. When it's all added up, she's spent more than $10 million in taxpayers' money on her vacations."

That was before the $4 million year-end vacation in Hawaii.

There's a saying, "If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck." Incredible as it is to us, Moochelle gives every evidence that she really thinks she's a queen.

Here's the latest.

Ben Johnson of The White House Watch alerts us to an upcoming episode of the Nickelodeon children's show iCarly, airing on January 16, in which Moochelle will appear.

In the episode, the character Sam Puckett calls her "Your Excellency." When a friend corrects Sam, Michelle responds, "No, no, I kinda like it."

Johnson notes that "Hollywood writers managed to capture the truth about our first lady. She vacations in splendor, often spending long periods of time away from her husband in the watchful care of handsome, well-built members of the Secret Service. In the summer of 2010, she spent $145,000 flying Air Force 747s to her Spanish vacation. She shelled out an additional $95,000 in hotel costs — for the Secret Service alone. She and Barry scooted off to Martha's Vineyard this summer, renting a home for 10 days for the cost of a mere $50,000 of your dollars."
