Altaf Hussain caught escaping to South Africa?

London: Altaf Hussain self exiled leader of MQM-A caught escaping to South Africa by the authorities. According to sources, 'Altaf Hussain was hiding in the Wrexham area close to Slough in Berkshire for the past few days. He was stopped when was going to Heathrow Airport in a private taxi. Interestingly the taxi driver was a Pakistani whom Mr Hussain thought as an English man due to his appearance.

According to sources Altaf Hussain told the authorities that, 'he is leaving UK and going to South Africa for security reasons and personal protection'. According to sources he was told that, 'security can be provided to him in the UK'. It is not yet clear if Mr Hussain detained or taken in protective custody. Mr Altaf Hussain is a British Citizen and living in self imposed exile since 1992.  He is never been to Pakistan since 1992, not a registered voter now and never voted in any elections ever since.

Earlier yesterday it was reported that British police raided two addresses including an office of  MQM-A in London in connection with the on going murder investigation of Dr Imran Farooq. It is reported that police took the crucial evidence in custody including the carpets for forensic investigation.   According to reports 35 well trained officers of the Scotland Yard took part in the operation on Thursday 24th August 2011".

It is reported that those MQM-A terrorists arrested in Karachi were actually coming from Colombo Sri Lanka and had connections with the murder of Dr Imran Farooq. The arrests took place as result of tip off from British authorities.

According to reports both Khalid Shamim and another MQM-A terrorists who were arrested in Karachi while arriving from Colombo actually called in to be eliminated in Karachi by their own party MQM-A.   They had crucial information related to Dr Imran Farooq's murder as well as target killing cells in various countries including South Africa. They knew too much about the MQM-A illegal and terrorist activities and needed to be eliminated that is why they were called in Karachi. They are lucky to be alive in the custody of Pakistani authorities than killed by their own death squad.

**JP** True facts about KARACHI

I don't know the sender but I am still inclined to forward this mail. This is something to be pondered over. It concerns the fate of whole country.

Its 101% true.

Grover Cared

March 2, 2006 8:09 A.M.
Grover Cared
Taking disaster relief lessons from a compassionate conservative.
Lawrence W. Reed

The year 1887 was a tough year in Texas. Day after day brought hot, dry winds that parched the land. Farmers saw their crops wither and their cattle grow weak from thirst. Spirits faltered as desperate Texans prayed for rain, seemingly to no avail. Eager to help (at least with other people's money), congressmen pushed through a bill to provide federal aid in the form of seed, but one man stood in their way–America's 22nd president, Grover Cleveland. At a time when the federal budget boasted a large surplus, he vetoed the bill.

What kind of man could say no to free seed for his salt-of-the-earth brethren in distress? Was Cleveland, son of a Presbyterian minister, a cold, cruel and heartless Scrooge? Could this be the same man who once taught at the New York Institute for the Education of the Blind and cultivated a passionate, lifelong devotion to helping the sightless?

Yes indeed, one and the same. But the president was no mean-spirited miser. He simply knew what almost no one in Congress today understands: He knew the decisive difference between government and everything else. If he were alive to witness the tragic antics of Federal Emergency Management Agency in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, he might be sorely tempted to say, "I told you so."

A federal bureaucracy that shells out $438 per night to house New Orleans evacuees in a Manhattan hotel, blows $300 million on trailers that sit and rot many miles away from the intended recipients, stymies help from the Red Cross and other government departments, doles out $2,000 debit cards to just about anybody who needs a tattoo and a massage, and runs ice trucks to every corner of the country except where the ice is needed: These are not the fruit of the allegedly insensitive, laissez-faire 1880s. They are the product of our "compassionate" and gargantuan government, for which every need is an excuse to spend, grow, politicize and subsume.

In his veto of the Texas Seed Bill, Cleveland warned against a general disregard of the "limited mission" of the federal government. He didn't think Congress or the president should torture the Constitution until it confessed that disaster relief was among the responsibilities of Washington, D.C. He felt that the country should heed the time-honored lesson that, as he put it, "Though the people support the Government, the Government should not support the people."

The welfare-statists of our time have saddled us with $8 trillion in debt, a federal tax burden seven or eight times that of Cleveland's day, and a legacy of handout programs that have yielded little more than dependency and dysfunctional families. Billions in corporate welfare have exacted a similar toll on American enterprise. Cleveland tried to tell us that government has nothing to give anybody except what it first takes from somebody, and that a government big enough to give us everything we want is big enough to take away everything we've got. But somewhere along the way we fooled ourselves into thinking that government can help our brothers and sisters better, more quickly, and more cheaply than we can help them ourselves. What a sorry mess of pottage we've mortgaged our children's future for.

Nonetheless, Americans are still the most generous charity givers on the planet. The best evidence that we haven't entirely lost the instincts Cleveland appealed to is the fact that when Americans want to donate money to help others, they don't make their checks out to FEMA or any other government agency.

Cleveland didn't say no to drought relief because he thought hurting farmers didn't deserve relief. He urged Americans in general and members of Congress in particular to give from their own hearts and personal resources. His veto message noted, "The friendliness and charity of our countrymen can always be relied upon to relieve their fellow citizens in misfortune." Aid from Washington, D.C., he wrote, only "encourages the expectation of paternal care on the part of the Government and weakens the sturdiness of our national character."

Those farmers in Texas got their aid, all right–as much as 10 times or more in private assistance as the amount that Cleveland refused to launder first through a federal bureaucracy.

Just six years before in another example of monumental generosity, Americans came to the rescue of their fellow citizens through private means. In 1881, Clara Barton mobilized her newly formed American Red Cross in its first major disaster-relief effort, pouring a gusher of money, food, clothes and volunteers into Michigan after a raging fire destroyed much of four counties. American history is replete with similar stories of people helping people in the absence of largesse from Washington, D.C.

As the Katrina recovery continues, the federal government will do what the federal government does best. It will talk, squawk, and pontificate. It will hold hearings, point fingers, and proclaim its good intentions. It will learn nothing and change little, for that is the nature of the beast and a big reason our Founders wanted it kept small and constrained in the first place. It will, as one of Franklin Roosevelt's cronies once said, "tax and tax, spend and spend, elect and elect."

I suspect that meanwhile, in spite of the mind-numbing hurdles that big government puts in their way, the real heroes will be quiet folks who help their fellow citizens by what they give and by what they build. Grover Cleveland told us we could count on them because they, at least, have never let us down.

Hey Everyone,

Dick had no family to speak of.  Several of his long time friends from the area are attempting to get in touch with his ex-wife, who we believe is still in the Cincinnati area.

Dick was a class act!  He was a good on-line friend to my co-moderator Mark Kahle and I, and was a devoted member and avid poster here in Political Forum.  A long time computer programmer and White House attache'  for IBM back in the 1960s,  Dick's contributions are very much appreciated and not forgotten as we celebrate his life.

Americans Didn't Elect a Queen

Elected a spade and got a hoe.

Americans Didn't Elect a Queen

Michelle Antoinette Obama: "Let them eat cake!"

The UK's Daily Mail reports on August 25, 2011, that unnamed "White House sources" claimed that Michelle Obama has spent $10 million of U.S. taxpayers' money on vacations alone in the past year.

Branding her "disgusting" and "a vacation junkie", the "top source" said Moochelle has been indulging in five-star hotels, where she splashes out on expensive massages and alcohol. "It's disgusting. Michelle is taking advantage of her privileged position while the most hardworking Americans can barely afford a week or two off work. When it's all added up, she's spent more than $10 million in taxpayers' money on her vacations."

Moochelle in Marbella, Spain, wearing a designer JeanPaul Gaultier top.

Moochelle is believed to have taken 42 days of holiday in the past year, including a $375,000 break in Spain and a four-day ski trip to Vail, Colorado, where she spent $2,000 a night on a suite at the Sebastian hotel. The Obamas' present nine-day stay in Martha's Vineyard is also proving costly, with rental of the Blue Heron Farm property alone costing an estimated $50,000 a week.

The source continued: "Michelle also enjoys drinking expensive booze during her trips. She favours martinis with top-shelf vodka and has a taste for rich sparking wines. The vacations are totally Michelle's idea. She's like a junkie. She can't schedule enough getaways, and she lives from one to the next - all the while sticking it to hardworking Americans."

Bicycling on Martha's Vineyard, August 2011

While Barry and Moochelle do pay for some of their personal expenses from their own pocket, the website whitehousedossier.com says that the amount paid by the couple is "dwarfed by the overall cost to the public".

Now, Judicial Watch -- the organization that investigates and fights government corruption -- has filed a lawsuit over the federal government's refusal to disclose how much taxpayers spent to send Moochelle on a "family outing" that included a safari in Africa.

Bob Unruh of World Net Daily reports, August 26, 2011, that Judicial Watch earlier documented the extravagant spending by then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Records showed Pelosi cost taxpayers $101,000 for in-flight food and alcohol over a period in 2008 and 2009. At one point she instructed the Air Force to provide chocolate-covered strawberries for a snack, since it was her birthday.

"How much did the American people spend to send the First Lady on a family outing in Africa? That's what we want to know," said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. "On the surface, the trip seems to have been totally unnecessary and was as much an excuse for the Obama family to go on a safari as it was a mission intended to advance the nation's business in Africa."

The organization requested information in June regarding the expenses for the trip. The request included records for the mission taskings for the June 21-27 trip to South Africa and Botswana, the transportation costs and all passenger manifests for the trip.

The government had until Aug. 3 to respond, but did not, so Judicial Watch now has followed up with a lawsuit.

H/t beloved fellow Tina.

Ron Paul should take Rick Perry to the woodshed

Ron Paul should take Rick Perry to the woodshed
By Brent Budowsky - 08/26/11 01:26 PM ET

Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) should, and probably will, take Texas Gov. Rick Perry to the woodshed as America's leading phony conservative flavor of the month, and launch the mother of all Ron Paul money bombs. While Ron Paul is an authentic libertarian Rick Perry, is a polyester political libertine who moves effortlessly from championing Al Gore to imitating Ron Paul.

While Ron Paul discusses monetary policy for 30 years, Rick Perry is a monetary parvenu who probably thinks QE2 is an ocean liner and descends to the gutter with language about the Fed that implies treason and appears to imply violence.

While Ron Paul is against deficit spending, Rick Perry has run up deficits in Texas. While Ron Paul abhors government programs, Rick Perry gobbled up Obama stimulus money like a rabbit in heat, and then used government programs to raise pay-for-play campaign dough with a gusto that would make former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich proud.

While Ron Paul raises money from real Americans who believe in his vision, Rick Perry raises money from special interests that exploit the kind of programs Paul opposes, which Perry pretends to oppose while holding fundraisers for government contractors.

While Ron Paul offers serious discussion of foreign policy, whether one agrees with Paul or not, Perry offers trite neocon platitudes that sound like leftovers from Dick Cheney speeches in which Perry appears hell-bent to find big wars for America to fight.

Ron Paul offers a choice between a genuine conservative libertarian versus a polyester political libertine. Ron Paul advocated his philosophy for more than a generation while Rick Perry shape-shifted from championing Al Gore to imitating Ron Paul, sounding like Dick Cheney, creating Texas deficits, gobbling up Obama stimulus cash and raising campaign dough from government contractors.

I am no conservative. Neither was George W. Bush. And neither is Rick Perry, who Ron Paul should take to the woodshed.

Fwd: How Dems/Obama/Government's regulations destroy business and jobs creation

Bob Beauprez   Townhall

4200 New Regulations in Obama Pipeline- so far

Way back in January President Obama ordered "a government-wide review of the rules already on the books to remove outdated regulations that stifle job creation and make our economy less competitive."

From that statement alone, you might conclude that Obama already knew that finding needless, burdensome regulation in the 81,000 pages of the federal register would be easy pickings.

More than seven months later, the Administration has announced the results of that exhaustive review.  By the White House's own undoubtedly inflated estimate, the net benefit will barely be worth one-tenth of one penny of every dollar of expense caused by compliance with federal regulation.

Cass Sunstein, the Regulation Czar, says the regulation relief he announced yesterday will save business $10 billion over five years.  But, the latest analysis by the Small Business Administration (SBA) calculates that compliance with federal regulation costs a staggering $1.75 trillion annually - and, that is a 2008 pre-Obama Administration estimate.

That does not include the 75 new major rules generated by Obama in just his first 26 months at an additional burden of $40 billion according to a study by the Heritage Foundation.

Worse, still to come are the impending clean air rules from the EPA, new derivative rules, net neutrality rules, the new CAFE fuel mandates, and the avalanche of rules mandated by ObamaCare and the Dodd-Frank legislation.

The government admits there are 4200 new rules or revisions already in the pipeline.

Sunstein's announcement is like finding a man drowning under Niagara Falls and "saving" him by removing a cup of water.  It is further evidence of the complete detachment from reality by this Administration, and an insult to the intelligence of working people and employers alike to pretend that this is the sum total of outdated, duplicitous, needless regulation that in Obama's own words, "stifles job creation."

But, then should we have expected anything different from the Administration that the Wall Street Journal says has "turned a regulatory firehose" on American business?

Fwd: [LA-F] Government encourages boat living

27 August 2011 Last updated at 05:10

Shapps urges councils to increase houseboat moorings

Boats on the Llangollen Canal
Grant Shapps said a residential mooring could allow people to live closer to their jobs, family or school

The government is offering councils financial incentives to allow more moorings for houseboats on waterways.

Housing Minister Grant Shapps says new moorings could be eligible for the New Homes Bonus, which sees the government match council tax from new-build homes.

He says houseboats could allow people to live in areas that otherwise might be out of their financial reach.

"Landlords, councils and communities all have a clear incentive to get more mooring sites in their areas," he said.

'Lease of life'

"Around 15,000 people live on our waterways and many more would like to do so. The government's commitment to localism could be an opportunity for living on boats to be given a new lease of life."

Mr Shapps said creating more residential long-term moorings could also reduce the number of boats overstaying on the towpaths of canals and waterways.

Sally Ash, of British Waterways, said the organisation hoped Mr Shapps's call for more moorings would "alleviate localised congestion along the towpaths".

"We are also pleased to note the reassurance from Mr Shapps' department that people can qualify for housing benefit for help with mooring fees," she said.

    SUPERNOVA[!]

'Instant Cosmic Classic' Supernova Is Closest To Earth Ever Detected

    Thursday, August 25, 2011
A supernova discovered yesterday is closer to Earth—approximately 21 million light-years away—than any other of its kind in a generation. Astronomers believe they caught the supernova within hours of its explosion, a rare feat made possible with a specialized survey telescope and state-of-the-art computational tools. These images show Type Ia supernova PTF 11kly, the youngest ever detected -- over the past three nights. The left image taken on Aug. 22 shows the event before it exploded supernova, approximately one million times fainter than the human eye can detect. The center image taken on August 23 shows the supernova at about 10,000 times fainter than the human eye can detect. The right image taken on Aug. 24 shows that the event is six times brighter than the previous day. In two weeks time it should be visible with a good pair of binoculars.
Credit: Peter Nugent/LBNL and Palomar ObservatoryThe finding of such a supernova so early and so close has energized the astronomical community as they are scrambling to observe it with as many telescopes as possible, including the Hubble Space Telescope.Joshua Bloom, assistant professor of astronomy at the University of California, Berkeley, called it "the supernova of a generation." Astronomers at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) and UC Berkeley, who made the discovery predict that it will be a target for research for the next decade, making it one of the most-studied supernova in history. The supernova, dubbed PTF 11kly, occurred in the Pinwheel Galaxy, located in the "Big Dipper," otherwise known as the Ursa Major constellation. It was discovered by the Palomar Transient Factory (PTF) survey, which is designed to observe and uncover astronomical events as they happen."We caught this supernova very soon after explosion. PTF 11kly is getting brighter by the minute. It's already 20 times brighter than it was yesterday," said Peter Nugent, the senior scientist at Berkeley Lab who first spotted the supernova. Nugent is also an adjunct professor of astronomy at UC Berkeley. "Observing PTF 11kly unfold should be a wild ride. It is an instant cosmic classic."He credits supercomputers at the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC), a Department of Energy supercomputing center at Berkeley Lab, as well as high-speed networks with uncovering this rare event in the nick of time. The PTF survey uses a robotic telescope mounted on the 48-inch Samuel Oschin Telescope at Palomar Observatory in Southern California to scan the sky nightly. As soon as the observations are taken, the data travels more than 400 miles to NERSC via the National Science Foundation's High Performance Wireless Research and Education Network and DOE's Energy Sciences Network (ESnet). At NERSC, computers running machine learning algorithms in the Real-time Transient Detection Pipeline scan through the data and identify events to follow up on. Within hours of identifying PTF 11kly, this automated system sent the coordinates to telescopes around the world for follow-up observations.Three hours after the automated PTF pipeline identified this supernova candidate, telescopes in the Canary Islands (Spain) had captured unique "light signatures," or spectra, of the event. Twelve hours later, his team had observed the event with a suite of telescopes including the Lick Observatory (California), and Keck Observatory (Hawaii) and determined the supernova belongs to a special category, called Type Ia. Nugent notes that this is the earliest spectrum ever taken of a Type Ia supernova."Type Ia supernova are the kind we use to measure the expansion of the Universe. Seeing one explode so close by allows us to study these events in unprecedented detail," said Mark Sullivan, the Oxford University team leader who was among the first to follow up on this detection."We still do not know for sure what causes such explosions," said Weidong Li, senior scientist at UC Berkeley and collaborator of Nugent. "We are using images from the Hubble Space Telescope, taken fortuitously years before an explosion to search for clues to the event's origin."The team will be watching carefully over the next few weeks, and an urgent request to NASA yesterday means the Hubble Space Telescope will begin studying the supernova's chemistry and physics this weekend.Catching supernovae so early allows a rare glimpse at the outer layers of the supernova, which contain hints about what kind of star exploded. "When you catch them this early, mixed in with the explosion you can actually see unburned bits from star that exploded! It is remarkable," said Andrew Howell of UC Santa Barbara/Las Cumbres Global Telescope Network. "We are finding new clues to solving the mystery of the origin of these supernovae that has perplexed us for 70 years. Despite looking at thousands of supernovae, I've never seen anything like this before.""The ability to process all of this data in near real-time and share our results with collaborators around the globe through the Science Gateway at NERSC is an invaluable tool for following up on supernova events," says Nugent. "We wouldn't have been able to detect and observe this candidate as soon as we did without the resources at NERSC."At a mere 21 million light-years from Earth, a relatively small distance by astronomical standards, the supernova is still getting brighter, and might even be visible with good binoculars in ten days' time, appearing brighter than any other supernova of its type in the last 30 years."The best time to see this exploding star will be just after evening twilight in the Northern hemisphere in a week or so," said Oxford's Sullivan. "You'll need dark skies and a good pair of binoculars, although a small telescope would be even better."The scientists in the PTF have discovered more than 1,000 supernovae since it started operating in 2008, but they believe this could be their most significant discovery yet. The last time a supernova of this sort occurred so close was in 1986, but Nugent notes that this one was peculiar and heavily obscured by dust.'"Before that, you'd have to go back to 1972, 1937 and 1572 to find more nearby Type Ia supernovae," says Nugent.Contacts and sources:Linda VuDOE/Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory

THE HOAX OF SHAHBAZ TASEER'S ABDUCTION:

HE HAS DISAPPEARED UNDER A PLAN HATCHED IN ISLAMABAD TO PULL THE RUG FROM UNDER SHAHBAZ SHARIF'S KARACHI VISIT. IT IS A DRAMA HATCHED BY THE PPP CRIMINALS WHO WANT TO HIDE THEIR SINS IN KARACHI. IMAGINE LAW AND ORDER IN KARACHI BEING COMPARED WITH THAT IN LAHORE BY THE GOVERNOR PUNJAB AND PPP HIGH COMMAND.

YOU WILL SEE TASEER WILL REAPPEAR IN A FEW DAYS.
