Congressman Ron Paul gives a speech.

Maybe you do not agree with his foreign policy of peace and non-interventionism.

Perhaps you heard some sort of distortion that he wants to legalize heroine when, in reality, he wants to leave that decision rightfully, and Constitutionally, up to the states.

The fact is, this presidential election is neither about heroine nor entirely about foreign policy. It is about the economy, and no Republican candidate knows economics better than Texas Congressman Ron Paul.

Small government Conservatism is all the rage with Republicans these days, and no candidate better represents that movement than the founder of the Tea Party himself, Ron Paul.

In commemoration of the Boston Tea Party, a moneybomb was held on December 16, 2007, when Ron Paul raised $6 million in a 24-hour period. This was the very beginning of the Tea Party movement.

Yet, the undeniable fact of the matter is, Paul still does not win over mainstream Republicans. Many, who in fact claim to be passionate Tea Party members, think of Paul as a "kook" or "crazy."

But still many of these people parade as small government aficionados and rave about the foul taste Obama has left in their mouths, while simultaneously writing off the single candidate who truly believes in freedom and small government in favor of establishment figures such as Mitt Romney, Rick Perry and Palin-esque Michele Bachmann.

Paul has been ahead of the curve on economic issues. He was the first to raise questions about the Federal Reserve and its effect on the economy through the business cycle.

Now, the business cycle discussion is being talked from newer angles and much more intellectually.

Paul has been a different kind of politician in that, namely, he has shown integrity throughout his time in Washington.

Indeed, he has been the most consistent politician in, perhaps, American history. Paul has stood true to his principles and convictions through the decades, being the lone "no" vote in Congress numerous times.

Not once in his decades of political service has Paul once voted to raise taxes.

Social conservatives need not fret. Paul is vehemently anti-abortion and favors repealing Roe v. Wade. Additionally, he defines marriage as being between a single man and a single woman.

However, what separates Paul from the other candidates on these issues is that he does not allow his personal views to come into conflict with his views on the role of government.

Make no mistake, while Paul is a social conservative, he is a small government proponent first.

That means allowing anti-abortion and pro-gay marriage laws at the state level if such laws are passed.

Maybe that infuriates you about Paul, but it shouldn't. It is a sign of true principle and love of the Constitution.

No other Republican candidate for the presidency can claim to have such fondness of the Constitution or of limited government.

That's what Republicans want these days, isn't it?

And that is exactly why Ron Paul is the best choice for the Republican nomination. He truly represents what Republicanism and Conservatism are all about.

Principle and conviction are not all this Congressman has to offer. Paul stands the best chance of beating Obama in 2012.

In such an election, he would have the Republican vote locked up, courtesy of all the anti-Obama journalism of the past three years.

Furthermore, he wins many left-leaning voters who are disenfranchised by the lost promise of "change."

While his relatively high popularity with the Left may surprise some, it is as Paul optimistically proclaims, "Freedom brings us together."

There is something special about a candidate who can bring people of typically differing political views together.

Detractors claim that Paul appears "unpresidential," yet there's something undeniably very likable about him, something refreshing.

Conjecture abound, maybe it's his integrity and honesty, or maybe it's the freshness of a candidate who has real principles that do not change with the election cycle.

Maybe it's the way he refuses to go with the grain for political gain.

Whatever the case may be, Ron Paul is not only the best candidate for the Republican nomination, but he is the best choice for President of the United States.

But he has to get that far first.

All that really keeps him from being considered a top tier candidate by mainstream outlets is his foreign policy. For the next election, Republicans should put aside their beliefs on foreign policy and elect someone with integrity, intelligence and real knowledge of economics. Not another talking-point spewing figurehead.

That way, we all win.

Those are the editions of the newspapers in which the purported birth announcement of Barack Obama appeared, and while we understand that the announcement's inclusion in those newspapers would not be conclusive proof that Barack Obama was born in Hawaii (as there were circumstances that would have allowed for them to appear without a Hawaii birth actually occurring), the only evidence anyone has actually seen of the birth announcements has been copies of microfiche versions of those newspapers, and they contain suspicious anomalies. As with the vault version of Obama's birth certificate (which has still not been forensically verified as being a valid document), we would like an opportunity to inspect one of these actual newspapers rather than purported representations of them.

The Birther Summit is aware that the existence of an original copy of one of these two newspapers might be fairly unlikely; however, August 13, 1961 was also the day that the first reports of the Berlin Wall's construction appeared in newspapers around the globe. For that reason, we believe that someone in Honolulu may have saved and stored a copy of one of them.

To redeem this reward, individuals may submit photographic evidence of their possession of one of those two newspapers to dean@birthersummit.org at which time instructions will be provided regarding the purchase process that will be brokered through our attorney's office.

I don't know whether you (we) are discussing it seriously or in lighter vein.
 
Sorry, no exceptions. The aim is to eliminate ALL weapons, licensed or unlicensed, and when there will be no weapons the need for self protection shall not arise.
 
As proper record of all surrendered weapons will be maintained, the licensed ones could be returned after some time after due verifications/recommendations/sureties.  Remember, many miscreants and mafia groups enjoying the patronage of one or the other political party are given licenses by their political parties. All unlicensed weapons shall be confiscated.

A lot is being said and written for and against calling the army for restoring law and order in Karachi. I am for it.  To my mind de-weaponisation of Karachi is the only answer to stop this wanton killing.  No weapons no killing. There is such a huge number of weapons there that it will not be an easy task to get them all back. I would, therefore, suggest the following sequence of action for the army to collect the weapons:

 

  1. Impose curfew in the suspected/dangerous areas, completely sealing them off from the rest of the city by shooting at sight to restrict the movement and taking away/shifting of the weapons to other localities.  Strict vigilance be kept that no weapons are sneaked away to other localities during the 'relaxation' time of the curfew. 
  2. Allow three days for all to deposit the weapons in the nearest Police Station with proper record of the surrendered weapons maintained under the supervision of army officers. Police cannot be trusted with this responsibility for obvious reasons.  Extensive publicity by all media radio, TV, newspapers, posters and dropping of leaflets, loud speakers etc. be given that no harm will come to those who surrender the licensed or unlicensed  weapons but any one found with a weapon after three days will be killed with the same weapon.

 

Not all will deposit their weapons. I bet.

 

  1. After three days house to house search under strict curfew be carried out. There are bound to be a quite a few culprits hiding weapons. Take  three or four of them and shoot them with their own weapons within the seeing and hearing of others. Thereafter, publicise the shooting widely with all means of publicity. Human Rightists, please hold your horses.

 

  1. Give them another period of three 'grace' days to surrender their weapons once again, making it quite clear to them that this shall be the FINAL warning and ALL those failing to deposit the weapons hereafter SHALL meet the same fate.

The entire Karachi will be clean of weapons in a matter of week or so. Now, great care must be taken that no new weapons find their way into Karachi again. There are only a few and known 'in roads' and 'passages' for the smuggling in of such weapons and the police and others know them. Salam, I am with you 100% on this. I believe in Hard punishment. But my question to you is what makes you think that High Class or rich people will do the same thing. Their is no doubt that common Men will be the first one to surrender their weapons and it will be the Army who will go door to door in search for the weapons. Are they going to search High Class too? Second question to you is what will Happen to those who are giving orders for this Terrorism from outside?  For me the root of the cause is their and That has to go too.

Not all will deposit their weapons. I bet.

 

  1. After three days house to house search under strict curfew be carried out. There are bound to be a quite a few culprits hiding weapons. Take  three or four of them and shoot them with their own weapons within the seeing and hearing of others. Thereafter, publicise the shooting widely with all means of publicity. Human Rightists, please hold your horses.

 

  1. Give them another period of three 'grace' days to surrender their weapons once again, making it quite clear to them that this shall be the FINAL warning and ALL those failing to deposit the weapons hereafter SHALL meet the same fate.

Under the same law that these terrorists are using their weapons to kill the innocent citizens.  This total lawlessness is to be tackled on the 'war' footing,  And in war it doesn't matter whether you kill the 'enemy' with your weapon or with the one captured from him.  The aim is to kill him, by whatever means and weapon.  The order to kill such 'defaulters' would be given before hand by the legal authority.  Hence, it would be just in order to kill such terrorists who do not surrender their weapons.
