Re: Al Qaeda is patriotic than...

Hey Sage,

I have been out of the country for the past seven months.   I have had the opportunity to watch European media, which has I think more fairly shown the rallies in the United States, as compared to CBS, NBC,  CNN and others.   (FOX News, being the only fair and balanced news organization in America any more.....)

There is no question that the rallies are still drawing massive crowds, all over the United States.  I went to one in Tampa on Friday night, and there was at least four to five thousand people there.....No big named candidates,  no election coming up.....Just Americans tired of folks like Lil' Stevie, and the Obama Administration.

They are in for a really rude awakening.   They literally have no clue, the outrage in this Nation.

You aren't very smart in the most basic sense, Are you?

I'm guessing you will start to see them show up when they actually
start having the rallies again.
By my memory, That usually happens around election time. You just
might figure that out later.

Interesting that you have no substantitive political arguement. Just
slurs and desparages.

Way to go.

Re: Every time you call Obama a Socialist...

Hey Steve,

Every now and then, I have to repost this to remind Socialists such as yourself that the Democratic Party no longer finds the term "Socialist"  offensive.

Nationalizing the oil companies?  You have already tried, and failed.

The truth is, that the Democratic Party now openly advocates socialism, which by its very definition, is some middle ground and transition to communism.   Although the Democrats used to try and evade the moniker, and distance themselves from being classified as socialists, they do so no more.  Congresswoman Maxine Waters, (D. Cal.)  several months ago, parroted the Venezuelan socialist dictator, Hugo Chavez, calling for the nationalization of the oil companies:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUaY3LhJ-IQ

Current Chicago Mayor, former Obama Administration Chief of Staff, and former House Democratic Caucus Chairman Rahm Emanuel (D-IL) said:

"So if there's any seriousness about what some of our Republican colleagues are saying here in the House and elsewhere about improving the number of refineries, then maybe they'd be willing to have these refineries owned publicly, owned by the people of the United States, so that the people of the United States can determine how much of the product is refined and put out on the market.

"To me, that sounds like a very good idea."

http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/06/why_do_we_call_them_democrats.html

Congressman  Maurice Hinchey (D-NY) on June 18, 2008 in a Press Conference of the Democratic Leadership said:

"Should the people of the United States own refineries?  Maybe so.  Frankly, I think that's a good idea.  Then we could control the amount of refined product much more capably that gets out on the market...

 http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/06/why_do_we_call_them_democrats.html

Democrats openly call for redistribution of wealth in our Nation, they call for socialized medicine, socialized energy, and in general, the Democratic Party openly advocates the federal government's  involvement in each and every facet of our lives.   Period.  What part of the above can you sit here and argue, Lil' Stevie,  with a straight face,  is NOT socialism?

By example, here in President Obama's own words, he openly advocates a redistribution of wealth:

http://www.breitbart.tv/html/195153.html

Of course, Vice President Biden believes that a socialist, "redistribution of wealth" plan, is the "patriotic thing to do":

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCqgNWRjmAc

Here Lil' Stevie,  is the definition of socialism,  (which I had encouraged you to go and look up for yourself)  you are clearly uninformed as to what the term means:

"Date: 1837. From Latin socialis for "friend" or "companion" or "associate". Any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods; usually there is no private property; in Marxist theory this is also considered just a transitional stage between capitalism and communism and it is distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done."

The above definition is by Mr. John Spargo, from his work titled: "Socialism, A Summary And Interpretation Of Socialist Principles" (McMillan & Co. 1913).  Below is the Wiki definition, which is quite similar.

"Any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods.  A stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done"

There is no question that President Obama is calling for the very tenets of socialism, which is the forerunner of communism, and a economic and political system that has failed miserably throughout recorded history.   President Obama's,  and many Democrats' belief, is that "Socialism, Communism, Marxism, Trotskyism, and Stalinism were all wonderful political, social and economic systems, we just haven't had the right folks try and implement them yet!"

Re: Al Qaeda is patriotic than...

No Lil' Stevie,  the only poll that shows a minority of Americans who support the Tea Party was CBS News,  (and they showed 27 percent).  This poll was taken of individuals who were not even voters or likely to vote.  (Reckon who they are registered as?)

Americans are clearly concerned about the debt in this Nation,  over eighty percent.   That is what the Tea Party wants to stop, the bankruptcy of this Nation.

Lyndon Johnson's Great Society,  Jimma Carter's Malaise, and Bill Clinton's philandering, and then bombing another Nation to thake the media's focus off of cum stains on an intern's dress,  do not hold a candle to the current Administration's attempt at bankrupting this Nation, and Americans are tired of it.

Keep on, "Keeping On".  If you are as naive as you express yourself, Geesh, you are in for a really really big, really big shock come November 2012!!

Urges For Fair War Crimes Trials in Bangladesh

http://www.williamgomes.org/blog/?p=147

August8, 2011

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina
Prime Minister's Office
Old Sangsad Bhaban
Tejagaon, Dhaka-1215
Bangladesh

RE:  Urges For Fair War Crimes Trials in Bangladesh

Dear Prime Minister,

I am William Gomes, human rights activist and journalist from Bangladesh presently in exile in Hong Kong. I welcome your government's commitment to bring to justice those responsible for serious human rights abuses in 1971.

I strongly support a successful legal and judicial process that is fair and impartial in holding the perpetrators of crimes accountable. Justice for victims of these atrocities is long overdue. Those responsible have evaded justice for far too long.

The ICCPR contains key provisions on fair trials and the rights of accused persons. Bangladesh's obligations as a state party to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), to which Bangladesh is a state party. It is essential that all aspects of the ICT's work meet the international standard.

I came to know that British barrister Toby Cadman, representing five of the seven men detained by the International Crimes Tribunal on allegations of committing international crimes during the 1971 war of independence, was prevented from entering Bangladesh on Friday.

Cadman was seeking a 'visa on arrival' which he has successfully obtained on the four other occasions he had come to Bangladesh.

Cadman belongs to the barristers' chambers 9 Bedford Row in London, and has been instructed, along with two other lawyers from the same chambers, Steven Kay QC and John Cammegh by the Jamaat-e-Islami, to provide legal assistance to the party's five leaders currently detained by the ICT.

I want to remind you that in a letter in March to the Bangladesh law and foreign ministers, the US ambassador of war crimes at large, Stephen Rapp, had encouraged the government to agree to allowing involvement of foreign lawyers at the tribunal.

The field of international crimes is highly specialized and the participation of foreign counsel, particularly those who have litigated cases in the international and hybrid courts and tribunals, is very important to ensure that uniform or generally agreed standards are observed in practice,' his letter stated.

I urge to Bangladeshi government to better guarantee fair trials for those accused of war crimes during the country's 1971 war of independence.

I want to remind you  that New York-based Human Rights Watch said in a statement this week that Bangladesh's International Crimes Tribunal, set up by the government last year to hold fair and credible trials for crimes against humanity during the independence war, needs to be brought into compliance with international standards.

Rule 16(2) states that, "No person during investigation under the Act shall be subjected to any form of coercion, duress or threat of any kind." This is a welcome statement of principle that is consistent with the Convention against Torture (CAT), to which Bangladesh is a state party. The CAT defines torture as any act by which "severe pain or suffering, whether physical or mental, is intentionally inflicted on a person for such purposes as obtaining from him or a third person information or a confession, punishing him for an act he or a third party committed...intimidating or coercing him or third person, or for any reasons based on discrimination of any kind," where such pain or suffering is carried out either with the consent or acquiescence of a public official.

As Bangladesh's law enforcement agencies have a long history of torture and using coercion and duress to force criminal suspects to confess to crimes. In several time there were allegations from the from the detained in ICT that they were physically and mentally tortured.  I urge you to consider allegations of torture or mistreatment and to provide an appropriate remedy. It will be important for the credibility of the ICT for all allegations of torture or mistreatment to be impartially investigated promptly and transparently.

I also want to remind you that while Bangladesh has promised to meet international standards, I hope the government; especially you will honor that commitment.

I am very much concern about  the accused the right to the presumption of innocence, a fair and public hearing with counsel of their choice and the possibility of bail.

Recently the British barrister Toby Cadman has been refused by the Bangladesh government to enter into Bangladesh that raises a question about the impartiality of the government towards the free and fair trial.

I highly condemn regarding autocratic attitude of the government towards the human rights lawyer Toby Cadman.

I trust that you will take immediate action into this matter.

Yours sincerely,

William Nicholas Gomes

Journalist and Human Rights Activist

Re: Al Qaeda is patriotic than...

Good Morning Lil' Stevie!

I really don't know why I waste my time here in this thread, and you are welcome to take this, or leave it.....

You and your socialist brethren do yourselves no favors when you label folks as "Tea Fags"  or "Tea Baggers".....Whether you like it, or you don't like it,  the majority of Americans identify with the Tea Party!  That's right Lil' Stevie,  over 80 percent of Americans believe that our government should not spend more money than it takes in, and that the precepts of our Constitution should dictate the laws of this land.   That is all that the Tea Party is insisting upon.....That, and its First Amendment right to express such views.

Come next year, you will see once again, another massive sweep of socialists from office.  Your type of politics are done in this Nation.   We will also see the likes of folks like John McCain, (who unfortunately is not running next year, but he might opt to resign)  and other RINOs who have been parading as conservatives also gone.  Their day is also over.

It is because of folks like you, and those who would brand Tea Partiers as "racist";  (how passe';  now you have to revert to "terrorist" because no one listens to your tripe when you call patriotic Americans, "Racist" anymore);  "Terrorist";  or a host of other lewd, lascivious, vile and hateful names, that Americans will continue to flock to the Tea Party, because Americans know that what the Tea Party stands for is pretty much common sense.   Nothing terroristic, hateful or demonic about it.

You cannot defend against it, so therefore, as is typical,  folks like you spew hate,  misinformation and attempt class warfare.

It's not working Stevie! Keep on "Keeping On".....It actually helps our cause.

Liberals keep saying America is founded on compromise...

... because they want to maintain slavery for the tax paying half of the country

Compromise of 1850

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Territorial results of the Compromise:
Before the Compromise:

The Compromise of 1850 was a package of five bills, passed in September 1850, which defused a four-year confrontation between the slave states of the South and the free states of the North regarding the status of territories acquired during theMexican-American War (1846–1848). The compromise, drafted by Whig Henry Clayand brokered by Clay and Democrat Stephen Douglas, avoided secession or civil war and reduced sectional conflict for four years.

The Compromise was greeted with relief, although each side disliked specific provisions. Texas surrendered its claim to New Mexico but received debt relief and the Texas Panhandle, and retained the control over El Paso that it had established earlier in 1850. California was permitted to be admitted to the Union as a free state, instead of being split at the Missouri Compromise Line or parallel 35° north. In addition, the South avoided the[1] Wilmot Proviso. As compensation, the South received the possibility of slave states, an issue to be determined by popular sovereignty in the new New Mexico Territory and Utah Territory (these lands were generally unsuited to plantation agriculture and were populated by non-Southerners); a stronger Fugitive Slave Act, the enforcement of which outraged Northern public opinion; and preservation of slavery in the national capital, although the slave trade was banned there except in the portion of the District of Columbia that rejoined Virginia.

The Compromise became possible after the sudden death of President Zachary Taylor, who, although a slaveowner, had favored excluding slavery from the Southwest. Whig leader Henry Clay designed a compromise, which failed to pass in early 1850. Upon Clay's instruction, Democratic Senator Stephen Douglas (Illinois) then divided Clay's bill into several smaller pieces and narrowly won their passage over the opposition of those with stronger views on both sides, including SenatorJohn C. Calhoun of South Carolina.
