**JP** Letter to Editor - Relief Funds

Dear Join Pakistan

LETTER TO EDITOR
6th August 2010

Relief Funds

Pakistanis have always risen to the occasion and donated generously in cash and kind to alleviate the miseries of fellow countrymen in times of natural disaster and calamity. October 2005 was probably the most shining example of it when Mansehra and Muzzafarabad were literally flooded with not only all kinds of provisions, foods, medicine, tents and shelters but also by the young volunteers including doctors and paramedics who came in hordes from places as far as Karachi.  People did it again in 2009 for the IDPs of Swat, Buner and Bajaur and donated generously and most willingly.  Surprisingly that spirit is not visible now in spite of repeated appeals by the government and ministers. especially when the present floods are rated to be the worst floods in the history of Pakistan. Much more loss of life and damage to the property has been done by this natural calamity than ev er before. Why is then the nation so indifferent and unresponsive? From my interaction with the general public, I find it to be a case of trust deficit. The political governments – federal as well provincial – do not enjoy the confidence of the people, who think that the money donated by them will not reach the people it is meant for. Like it or not, they still want army to handle the distribution of funds, commodities, and other supplies. Isn’t it sad?

Government Motors Invests $500 Million to Build Cars in Mexico

Government Motors Invests $500 Million to Build Cars in Mexico

How is this helping to keep Americans employed, Obama?   And to think that Obama criticized  McCain, saying that he "sold out" American workers in Pennsylvania because an obsolete picture tube manufacturing plant closed down and its outdated  manufacturing equipment was shipped overseas to China.

I now know that Obama was actually criticizing McCain not because the plant in Pennsylvania was shut down, but because McCain actually had the gall to ship useless technology to China while making a profit in the deal:
GM to Build New Vehicle at Plant in Mexico
Will invest $500 million at plant in Ramos Arispe
By Agence France-Presse - via Industry Week

General Motors will invest $500 million to produce a new vehicle and eight-cylinder engines in a plant in northeastern Mexico, a company spokesman said on August 4.

The decision was announced at a meeting on August 3 between GM management and Mexican officials, the spokesman said, without giving details of the new vehicle.

The investment in the GM plant in Ramos Arispe, Coahuila state, would generate 390 jobs, he added.

General Motors has been present in Mexico since 1935, where it has some 11,000 workers, four factories, an engineering center and a test circuit.

Democrats Want to Raise Taxes on Red States

Democrats Want to Raise Taxes on Red States

The same assholes who constantly whine about those evil Bush tax cuts only benefiting the rich, now want to protect the rich living in Blue states. Dems now want to raise taxes on Red states to save the rich elitists among them from paying higher taxes.

In today's Wall Street Journal, they blow the lid off of a rather shocking proposal by Rep. Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., and four other members of New York's House caucus:

One irony of the tax increase that arrives on January 1 is that the it will hit residents of high-income, Democratic-leaning states like California, Connecticut, New Jersey and New York the hardest. This is a problem for pro-tax Democrats.

Enter New York Representative Jerrold Nadler, who wants to exempt his own six-figure constituents from the tax hike he supports. Mr. Nadler's bill would "require the IRS to adjust tax brackets proportionally in regions where the average cost of living is higher than the national average."

In other words, the various tax brackets would apply to residents in certain regions at higher income levels versus other parts of the country. A family with an income of $50,000 or even $1 million in Manhattan would pay less federal income tax than a family with the same earnings in Omaha. The bill is called the Tax Equity Act, but a more accurate title would be the Blue State Tax Preference Act.

Cordoba House is Not the First Mosque of Triumph

Tom Burnett has a reminder for us, sent through another Alec Rawls blogburst. The issues of triumphalism & supremacism are not limited to any single place; they rise wherever Islam erects its symbols of conquest.

9:33. It is He Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad ) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islâm), to make it superior over all religions even though the Mushrikûn (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh) hate (it).

48:28. He it is Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad ) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islâm), that He may make it (Islâm) superior over all religions. And All-Sufficient is Allâh as a Witness.

61:9. He it is Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad ) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islâmic Monotheism) to make it victorious over all (other) religions even though the Mushrikûn (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh and in His Messenger Muhammed ) hate (it).

Reliance of the Traveller, Book O, Chapter 11.5, has a list of seven severe limitations on conquered Jews & Christians; two of which are relevant to this issue.

-5- may not build higher than or as high as the Muslims' buildings, though if they acquire a tall house, it is not razed;

-7- and are forbidden to build new churches.

Islam must be made superior, victorious: dominant. Its Mosques must be larger and more numerous than churches, as a sign of domination. Muslims are planting their flag, symbolically seizing territory. Is there some part of this you can't comprehend?

Flight 93 father: ground zero mosque is the SECOND mosque being built on a 9/11 site Pamela Geller, who is leading the fight against the ground zero mosque in New York, has posted the following letter from Tom Burnett Senior. To our fellow 9/11 families and to all who are concerned about the Ground Zero mega-mosque in New York: We want everyone to know that the Park Service is right now building an even larger Islamic victory mosque atop the Flight 93 crash site. Many of you were outraged in 2005 when the Crescent of Embrace design was unveiled to be a half-mile wide Islamic shaped crescent: http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z36/AlecRawls/MockUpandCrescentBorderedWithCaptio.jpgLeft: 2005 publicity shot of the Crescent of Embrace design. Right: typical Islamic crescent and star, viewed from a similar angle. Few people know that this giant crescent actually points to Mecca, or understand the religious significance of this orientation. A crescent that points the direction to Mecca is a very familiar construct in the Islamic world. Because Muslims face Mecca for prayer, every mosque is built around a Mecca direction indicator called a mihrab. The classic mihrab is crescent shaped. Here are the two most famous mihrabs in the world: http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z36/AlecRawls/Crescentmihrabsfull.jpgLeft: the Mihrab of the Prophet, at the Prophet's mosque in Medina. Right: the mihrab of the Great Mosque in Cordoba Spain. Face into the crescent to face Mecca As with the Medina and Cordoba mihrabs, a person facing into the Crescent of Embrace will be facing Mecca. In the image below, superimposed red lines show the orientation of the Flight 93 crescent. The green qibla circle is from an online Mecca-direction calculator: http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z36/AlecRawls/PlazaBisectorJPG.jpgA person standing between the tips of the crescent and facing into the center of the crescent (red arrow) will be facing almost exactly in "qibla" direction (the Muslim prayer direction). You can verify the qibla direction from Somerset PA using any number of on-line Mecca-direction calculators. To be precise, the Crescent of Embrace points 1.8° north of Mecca, ± a tenth of a degree. The final construction drawings alter this orientation slightly, so that instead of pointing a little less than two degrees north of Mecca, the actual crescent will point less than three degrees south of Mecca. Such small deviations from Mecca are insignificant by Islamic standards, which developed over a period of more than a thousand years during which far flung Muslims had no accurate way to determine the direction to Mecca. The Park Service does not call the Crescent of Embrace a crescent anymore. Now they call it Circle of Embrace, but the only actual change was to add an extra arc of trees (planted to the rear of a person facing into the giant crescent) that explicitly represents a broken off part of the circle. The unbroken part of the circle, what symbolically remains standing in the wake of 9/11, is just the original Crescent of Embrace. It is still a giant Islamic shaped crescent, still pointing at Mecca. This is the Park Service's official explanation for the design: the terrorist attacks are depicted as smashing our peaceful circle and turning it into a giant crescent. A clearer depiction of Islamic victory is hard to imagine, so no one should be too surprised that the damned thing points to Mecca, and actually turns out to be a mosque. Other mosque features Mosque design is based on a dozen typical mosque features, every one of which is realized in the Crescent/Circle design, all on the same epic scale as the half mile wide crescent-mihrab. Note, for instance, that the 93 foot tall minaret-like Tower of Voices is topped with another Islamic-shaped crescent, akin to the crescent-topped minarets seen in many Islamic countries: http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z36/AlecRawls/UpTowerFull.jpgAn Islamic shaped crescent, soaring in the sky above the symbolic lives of the 40 heroes, which literally dangle down below. In Islam, there is only heaven and hell. Symbolic damnation? The Flight 93 mosque needs to be stopped, along with the Islamic victory mosque at ground zero in Manhattan. May the fight against these two desecrations strengthen each other. Sincerely, Tom Burnett Senior Loving father of Flight 93 hero Tom Burnett Junior Pamela's Atlas Shrugs post includes a second letter from Mr. Burnett, thanking her for her help and passing on some information about the design selection process. (The vote for was 9 to 6 from a judging panel where family members were outnumbered 8-7 by left wing design professionals.) Want to join our blogburst against the crescent mosque? Just send your blog's url. There is also an online petition that people can sign. Contact information for the Flight 93 Memorial Project here.
